GOP Rep. Bill Cassidy, who is challenging Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) in one of this year’s most competitive Senate races, revealed late Thursday that his 17-year-old daughter became pregnant out of wedlock and is due later this summer.
Cassidy’s campaign revealed the news with a one-paragraph statement to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, published late Thursday afternoon as the July Fourth holiday weekend began.
“Earlier this year, Laura and I learned we will become grandparents this summer,” Cassidy, 56, said in the statement. “Our children have been the greatest blessing of our lives and we welcome our grandchild as a joyous addition to our family. Our daughter now faces a more challenging future than her peers. She has our unconditional love and support.”
His daughter is a rising senior at a high school in Baton Rouge.

He will no doubt be Palin’d over this. Hope they get through it OK, realizing that the Left is no doubt upset over missing a chance to talk a kid into an abortion.

The Palin family comes to mind, and they handled it with wisdom and family strength. And low and behold, they survived. Teenage pregnancy’s happen, have always happened will always happen ... it is how the families handle it that counts.

Mary will be relying on street cash - how she won in the first place = to try to steal this one. Everyone is sick of her. She’s running that she ‘stood up to Obama’ when, in fact, she’s been a rubber stamp voter.

Who cares? That is a personal issue for the family.

I take the term "Bible thumper" as a badge of honor. It's often used by the commies (not implying you, of course) as a pejorative along with these other terms that I likewise consider complimentary anymore:
It means she has finished her junior year but has not yet begun the senior year. It’s a common term.
