Whatever it is we know it is caused by man and government must fix it.
Oh and I’d need crew to help me. A couple cute blondes would probably be needed.
oh noes
It appears my house has also been subject to this new invasive species...
what to do??
We’re laughing now, but if we don’t change out the politicians we have now, this Rube Goldberg scheme for grabbing more money and power is gonna get legs.
Not to mention of course all the “stop plastic pollution (PP) now!” t-shirts to be printed. Then of course an inevitable controversey will erupt when it’s discovered that millions of such t-shirts and bumper stickers and posters were printed with ink based in part on petroleum products (gasp: plastics!)
Then a House Investigstion committee will be called to look into the practice (because everyone knows they don’t have more important things to do, than protecting the world’s oceans), eventually “discovering” (ie claiming but never verifying) some TEA party backed candidate has a connection to said scandal, who will then quietly be “audited” by the IRS.
When a Democratic link is also discovered, despite the best efforts of the Democrats on the committee (and their RINO lackeys) promises to “get to the bottom of this” will breathlessly be repeated until the next fundraising concert, all proceeds to benefit the Stop PP Now organization. (SPPN) An organization which the IRS fast-tracked to non-profit status coincidently enough. (but some “loony” FReepers claim has been used as a front to rig elections in Democrat’s favor).
And that, is the rest of the story.
I thought this was a John Semmis post.
Someone ring up Bill Koch...
“Whatever it is we know it is caused by man and government must fix it.”
Well, with plastic junk it IS MAN that is causing it. However, it will all be blamed on the U.S., and it will be our government forcing us to fix it. (I imagine that most of the crap is from third-world countries and China where they live among the garbage, and much less worried about tossing it into the ocean.)
Who is John Semmis?
ping
Must be someone that I can give all my money to, in exchange for ocean-plastic credits. I’ve just got to assuage my guilt!
(preferably someone that knows a great deal about this issue, and has a big plastic footprint himself... until I find this... person... I’ll just call this someone ManBearPlastic)
George Carlin does an EXCELLENT smack down in this routine.

The trouble is that no one can find it. It doesn't show up on Google Earth and no cruise ships, naval vessels or cargo ships have run into it. But, like global warming, they swear by it and will call you names if you ask for proof.
Sounds like a business opportunity for you! Perhaps get for every $500 you get in you’ll plant a $15 tree, and in 10 years it will be made into biodegradable paper bags!
(Oh wait, paper was bad so they switched us to plastic.) Okay - turn the trees into wicker baskets to carry our groceries in. Although there are already studies out about the bacteria and crap that grows in those reusable canvas and cloth bags. So hey - maybe the wicker (with ventilation, holds less moisture, etc.) WOULD be better.
Hey - forget it! I’m going to look on on youtube on how to make wicker baskets. (I KNEW I should have taken that course on basket weaving back in college!).
