I don’t get why the president only makes $400,000. There were years in the 80’s that I made more than that in telephone sales, and that was back when the president made, I believe, $250,000. That’s just silly. The CEO of a relatively small company makes millions on average. Of course, when I worked at the WH I only made $397 to about $1,600 a month. LOL
Remember, the President has a very nice life style (jets at his command, servants, chefs, etc.), and has zero expenses.
I'm guessing that's not part of your job description. ;-)
The presidential salary includes about $200 million dollars a year in perks and a lifetime full pay retirement pension that is adjusted for inflation.
George Washington tried to serve with no salary, but Congress forced one on him.
My highest salary in the 1980s was around $20,000 per year with a highly technical position. Even now 42,000 would be fantastic. Guess that’s what I get for living in a small town.
It ain’t the money. It’s the perks. Priceless and off the books.
If you think $400,000 is too low, then why do so many fight so hard for the job. Do not dare to compare government and private corporations. When “conservatives” don’t get the difference, there is not much hope.
