A black Mississippi pastor has emerged to claim Sen. Thad Cochran's (R-MS) campaign paid “thousands” of Democrats $15 each to vote in the June 24 GOP runoff – and that he was part of the scheme. Rev. Stevie Fielder, an associate pastor at First Union Missionary Baptist Church in Meridan, Mississippi, says Cochran's campaign “told me to offer blacks $15 each and to vote for Thad.” Fielder, who was paid by freelance journalist Charles C. Johnson for the story, provided a new outlet launched by Johnson—GotNews.com—with four text messages from a person purporting to be Cochran campaign staffer Saleem Baird. The messages cite an official Cochran campaign email address—Saleem@ThadForMs.com—and include detailed discussions of the campaign providing envelopes of money to distribute to people who vote. “Send me individual names and amounts along with home address to saleem@thadforms.com and I’ll have money separated in envelopes at the office waiting for you,” one message, sent three days before the runoff, says. Fielder said he helped distribute the Cochran cash for votes on a promise of eventually getting paid $16,000—and because a key Cochran campaign staffer convinced him that Cochran’s conservative challenger state Sen. Chris McDaniel was racist. “They sold me on the fact that he was a racist and that the right thing to do was to keep him out of office,” Fielder said. But Cochran's campaign never paid, Fielder said. But as to whether Cochran himself—the “candidate,” per Mississippi law—would be responsible for the actions of his campaign staffers, election law attorney Trey Traynor of Beirne, Maynard & Parsons, LLP told Breitbart News that “clearly yes,” Mississippi’s “statutes applies to candidates and their agents.”

You know after reading the above about three times through I sat back a little to think. I came up with something I think rings true in this scandal.
Those democrat officials in the link above seem to be working overtime to hang Barbour and Cochran. Ok no surprise in that. But they appear honest which is disturbing because you would think they are even more corrupt than the republicans. But maybe that’s not so.
Then there’s this advertising of democrat US Senate nominee Childers who is described as more conservative than Cochran which is not really surprising as Mississippi is a very conservative state.
And I was thinking is it possible that some true conservatives with integrity hated the Barbour corruption machine so much that they bolted from the GOP and went to the democrat side?
Because as it looks possible now, the democrats in MS have a chance to pickup a governor seat.
Unless the McDaniel people can bring them back into the true conservative fold with the Tea Party Republicans.
Because think about it. McDaniel is going to need a state GOP organization behind him. And conservatives are going to need to get a true conservative in the governor mansion. Because that’s where a great deal of electioneering abuse occurs.
I say the McDaniel camp, if they emerge victorious which I predict will happen, that they should purge the MS GOP leadership structure and replace it with honest conservative soon to be former democrats.
Man oh man this is just what the doctor ordered, a huge scandal that will blow the GOPe out of the water.
This is the GOPe’s Waterloo.

This whole GOP so called ‘Leadership’ has to be put on the tar and feather list with the rest of the corrupt Pols currently serving as ‘OUR????’ Representatives....

Read the link at the top of post #25! It’s highly informative of the Barbour machine. That machine is what orchestrated this fraud. They are GOPe. They are what needs to be replaced.
The democrats are apparently conservative in MS. I know we think such people are extinct but it seems they are genuine conservatives. They could take the Governorship in MS and turn the state blue.
McDaniel camp should think about bringing them home to the Tea Party wing of the GOP, the true conservatives in the fight.
