I know what youre thinking. Good Lord, not another Washington Redskins racism story. I can relate to that feeling, since Ive been sick of the subject since I first heard of it as a young man. Well, fear not
it may have started there, but today well jog off on an interesting side path which has cropped up. It isnt just sports teams which use names associated with indigenous Americans far from it and Dr. James Joyner highlights one example which is right in front of our faces
at least if youre anywhere near an Army base. He references a piece by Simon Waxman, who argues that the US Army is slurring Native Americans with the names of our helicopters.
Lol!
Which tribe are the Cobra?
I recently visited a reservation on the Olympic peninsula, a prosperous reservation
The high school teams go by the name of “The Red Devils”
signs in the school yard shouted.... Go Red Devils!
They are both racist and religous
I dunno, I think I take offense at “Whiteman” as a name for this obviously NOT white criminal piece of garbage. Oh. So he must be forced to change his name, because of the offense his name gives.
