The plot thickens. We might just have found a biggie….
In a recent Politico interview (publish date 6/27/14) with the Lois Lerner’s attorney William Taylor III an interesting aspect is buried midway through page #2.
During part of the interview Politico author Rachel Bade inquires about the 1.1 million pages of documents Lerner sent to the Department of Justice that became an issue when discovered by the House Oversight Committee on June 9th 2014. BACKSTORY HERE.
The documents were sent from IRS to DOJ on a series of 4 discs (CD ROMS) and, according to the admission from the DOJ, “contained legally protected taxpayer information that should not have ever been sent to the FBI“.
Why the DOJ waited to inform congress, and why they only did so after Daryl Issa found out about their existence, was a matter congressional consternation but no-one made a big deal about it.
Indeed all prior details and media reports of the interaction have been framed around the substance of legality, and illegality, for the IRS to actually send the confidential taxpayer data. This is indeed a concerning aspect – but we think we’ve uncovered something considerably more alarming about both the timing, and the substance.
Inside the Politico article is an explosively revealing defensively framed answer from attorney Taylor. He is specifically and directly stating it was NOT Lerner who initiated the inquiry:

Good find, but I think at this point, it will take troops landing on the White House lawn to make a difference. More IRS hearings and reports will not move a corrupt DOJ or US Senate to stop protecting the Regime.

Previously all reports had been that Lerner was soliciting the DOJ to investigate the 501(c)(4) parties. This outline by Taylor refutes that assertion and says she was merely responding to an inquiry from the Justice Department for information.
That’s a big deal.
If the DOJ was the initiator of the requests for information, that means the DOJ was the unit seeking to investigate the groups for potential illegal activity.
In essence the people looking to go after the Tea Party groups (et al) was the Department of Justice….. and Lois Lerner was a fellow traveller in the same ideological mindset as to provide the information because she too wanted them handcuffed.
Why this becomes so explosive is when you think about ALL THE OTHER activity of the DOJ at the time this IRS inquiry took place. THINK GIBSON GUITAR etc.

Just a thought. So far emails have only been sought from the IRS, who “lost” them. Perhaps they should ask for all IRS related emails sent between the Administration and the IRS and Justice and the IRS and between the Administration and Justice where anybody or anything from IRS is mentioned. Surely they can’t use the dog-ate-my-emails argument too...
Seems like somebody should inform them..........and their attorneys.

The doj will claim it did so and will not release the info due to “national security” concerns. Isn’t that the way obama operates? Any crap that may touch his robes is considered a national security concern not fit for the peasants eyes.
I agree. Somehow we need to move the DOJ out of the executive branch. Not sure how to do it, but with crooks like ZERO & Holder they have made a mockery of the system. The WH runs the DOJ.

YES! How much would you bet, it is a list of a the few remaining patriots.
Mark Levin said Boehner should have appointed a select committee to handle the IRS scandal and the DOJ would have to answer to courts for any missing documents but Boehner has been ineffective. Now that they have learned Grassley was a target, they may do what is needed. They have not had the incentive to protect the tea party.
