Ahmed Abu Khatallah, the Libyan militant charged in the 2012 Benghazi attacks, will face a federal judge Saturday afternoon for an initial court appearance, authorities confirmed to Fox News.
At that time, the government is expected to outline the charges against him.
Khatallah is being held at a federal courthouse in D.C. amid tight security, Department of Justice spokesman William Miller said.
He was flown to Washington by helicopter shortly after sunrise from a navy warship, where he had been held since his capture nearly two weeks ago.
Khatallah is accused of being involved in the Sept. 11, 2012 attack in Libya that led to the deaths of former U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, information officer Sean Smith, and former navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.

was the indictment unsealed?
His goose is COOKED no matter what he says or does!
Maybe, but I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a deal where he testifies that the YouTube Video caused all of this in exchange for a deal with the Obama/Holder DOJ for a light sentence as only a minor participant in the attacks.
How does this islamic terrorist get to lawyer up ???
He will get a deal IF he says he was pissed at a video.
At the US taxpayer's expense no less! I didn't read if he will be sentenced to death if convicted. He should be getting death at a minimum and a sausage and ham last meal; no 72 virgins for him in the afterlife and a bacon wrapped head in the electric chair at the maximum.
He probably thinks he has died and gone to heaven not being in that Libyan hellhole anymore
Did the ship miss the turn to Cuba?
The circus begins.
One of many continued circus freak side shows to keep the masses from maintaining a clear focus on the impotent POTUS and his shenanigans, assisted by the news media who can always be relied upon to protect our dear fuhrer. 2.5 years more of destroying the United States as we knew it. Tragic, to say the least. Worse, it will probably take 8 or more years to some how correct the damage, assuming it’s not permanent. America, I don’t recognize you anymore.........
VERY INTERESTING...
With a not guilty plea does this mean he will not say what the democrats have been saying all along? That this was NOT a response to a video? Or, will be it be not guilty because it was a random act of spontaneous Muslim rage? Or, not guilty by temporary insanity due to the video.
IF he pleas not guilty then the prosecution will be on him time and again to blame the video. There’s no way Obama can let that go. IF, however, no mention is made of the video this will be the last we ever hear of the trial.
US foreign policy is now a complete joke. The worst thing is there are at least more years for this mess to get worse.
Unexpectedly.
A really good lawyer will get this guy off. Chain of evidence will be brutal. So will authentication of any recorded phone calls.
Military tribunals are EXACTLY what were envisioned for situations like this. Obama is such a moron.
He’ll probably get the best criminal defense lawyer the Dept. of Justice has on staff.
Didn’t you hear obama on this? “Lawyers? We don’t need to go to all the expense of a trial and lawyers. He said he’s not guilty, so that’s good enough for me.”
Didnt you hear obama on this? Lawyers? We dont need to go to all the expense of a trial and lawyers. He said hes not guilty, so thats good enough for me.
It doesn’t surprise me but when and where did he say that?
I was wondering if it wasn’t over the top enough. Just kidding. I was going to add “And as my former Secretary of State formulated - ‘What difference does it make now?” But perhaps that STILL is too close to what obama could actually say.
I imagine that there will be a long show-trial to show how tough obama is on terrorism, etc.
