By now we know that every purchase a consumer makes is added to a list detailing one’s spending and life-style habit, which is used to target people for marketing campaigns and other services. But how would you feel if that information was used by your doctors to keep tabs on your health?

A new report from Bloomberg details how hospitals are using our habits such as buying cigarettes or skipping the gym to create patient profiles in order to identify those who are most likely to get sick.

Fox News (Cavuto) had on a surgeon, who even suggested it will end up they will use that in decisions on rationing the healthcare, to the extent to withhold it from patients who aren't compliant. He expressed it slightly differently, but this was the meaning.

The original article was published by Bloomberg, here is the link:

Your Doctor Knows You're Killing Yourself. The Data Brokers Told Her

They are calling it "proactive care management" -- just wait until they will ration what you can buy, "for your own good", of course and naturally not giving you proper care, because it's all your fault and you don't deserve it.

Smokers, people with diabetes beware, but not to fear, they wouldn't dare to use that on homosexual people who naturally have a much larger probability to get AIDS.

And if you think this info won’t get to the government and directions on how to ration healthcare, you are dreaming.

Insurance exists to price risk, NOT to ‘Pool’ risk.

If you want to smoke, you pay higher for life insurance.

If you don’t care to smoke, you pay lower for life insurance.

Duh.

The price of Freedom is Personal responsibility.

Central planner aholes like Obama don’t get it

But watch it if you use your credit card to purchase conservative books or magazines...

They’ll figure out a way to find why that is bad for your health...

“Central planner aholes like Obama don’t get it”

Oh, he gets it all right — this is about CONTROL, not about genuinely caring about people’s health...

Making the assumption of course that individuals consume every item they purchase. I can just hear the doctor now, "Sir, we need to point out that tampons should only be used as feminine care products. As a man, you could seriously injure your health using them." "and about that baby formula, it's very high in calories and will contribute to weight gain, you need to stop using it."

The surgeon on Cavuto pointed out exactly the mistakes and wrong conclusions that can be reached because people don’t just purchase items from just themselves...

“‘We see that you have purchased a firearm in the last year and belong to the NRA...’

That too.

I think they are already recommending that your doctor should ask whether there are any firearms in the family... all for your own good, of course...

And some people wonder why I haven’t made an electronic transaction in years, Precisely because of things like this as well as all the marketing you are sold to.

What credit card purchase info will indicate homo activities?

Kentucky Jelly?

Rubber gloves?

Pet shop?

Sorry, my mind won’t go there.

Prediction:

Within 5 years there will be a lethal “disease” spread by money. Money will become “unavailable” and plastic will be the only way to purchase.

Avoid affinity cards. Pay cash. Whether it's bad habits or not, I really don't want the feds knowing stuff that's none of their damn business. Another menace...coupons printed from your computer or otherwise tagged with your identity.

Actually, I've kind of gone off the deep end with this....I do buy Chaucer's dog food with a credit card. So on my profile it would seem that I live on dog food!

Something will take it's place. No government has ever gotten rid of the black market. Not even the Soviets, who killed millions for communism.

Most folks here see a report like this and assume its the government behind it.

The fact is there is a thriving and growing private industry that is far more intrusive into people's private lives than the government will ever be.

If you browse the Internet someone somewhere is collecting your data, use a cell phone company same, if you use a credit cards, same thing, same with applying for insurance, buying a ticket for any type of travel...the list goes on and on.

If you make any commercial transaction its likely someone somewhere is collecting that information and trying to figure out how to make a buck by selling it...
