Freepers Openly Supporting Liberal Democrats - Alison Lundergan Grimes
Free Republic ^ | June 26, 2014 | Salf/Vanity

Posted on 06/26/2014 10:01:59 AM PDT by ifinnegan

I never thought I would see the day when there were participants in this forum openly advocating voting for a liberal Democrat.

Yet that is what many are doing in advocating Kentuckians vote for Alison Lundergan Grimes.

This makes no sense unless one is a liberal or leftist anti-American or are unable to move beyond emotion and irrationality or a nihilist mind set that lets anger, fear, lack of faith and hatred dominate one's logical faculties.

Alison Lundergan Grimes was born in 1978. That's the year I graduated High school. Many here are older than I, and in politics, at 53 I am not all that old.

This liberal Democrat leftist, Alison Lundergan Grimes, is 36 years old. She is a baby in politics.

If she wins this seat now she will be in the Senate for 40 years.

By contrast, McConnell is an old man who will be gone after this term.

Those supporting the liberal Democrat leftist, Alison Lundergan Grimes, for Senate are going to simply make possible another Feinstein, or Boxer or any such left wing corrupt Marxist-thinking Senator with a Seat-For-Life.

Setting up a permanent seat in the Senate for a liberal leftist Democrat in a state where it is possible to avoid this plague, is not a good idea.

It may feel good emotionally to see the reprehensible, Mitch-I-want-to-punch-the-Tea-Party-in-the-nose McConnell lose, but the negative consequences are greater than the fleeting enjoyment of seeing McConnell lose.

I agree. We have 2 liberal parties and need none.

Fine, send the GOP straight to hell, I’m with you. But don’t take the rest of the country down with them by voting Democrat.

I don’t like old turkey neck either, but there is no way I could be so stupid to sit it out or vote for Grimes

Fortunately, that is how the vast majority of Republicans/conservatives will see it. It is only a tiny minority of people that act out like this and start talking about voting Democrat or 3rd party.

She is good looking though.

Perhaps the only thing that gives her any chance at all, though I'd guess McConnell will end up winning by 4-5 points. Obama is just so unpopular it is a tough hurdle for just about any Democrat in the South and/or coal country.

no time left for that.

You'll just have to cope. Those of us working to politically destroy liberal republicans won't stop because you say to.

Get used to it. You are powerless to direct or control our votes or our actions.

Get your priorities straight. Politics isn't the big issue right now, stopping ISIS, the IRS, EPA and the rest is what has to be done

And the GOPe is going to do that? I seem to recall a GOPe controlled House, Senate & WH from 2000-2006. Did they do it then? Did they abolish the IRS? Did they expand personal freedoms? Did they abolish the EPA? No, they gave us the Patriot Act. Your argument is ill informed and, if given your wish, will only go against you. At this point, the GOPe must be destroyed, if we ever want to get to true Conservatism.

The GOP can stop those Obama polices you mentioned now.
The GOP has a majority in the House NOW. They have the power of the purse to defund these policies NOW.

It is you that needs a reality check.

Once again, tell us what McConnell has done to fight the democrats
and Obama?

For those calling for unity; there is nothing easier than telling the guy you just beat that he should forget the depths you plumbed to do so.

Did the GOPe do jack about the border problem while they had 8 years? Nope. Did they reign in spending, control the debt? Nope they grew it.

Get rid of McConnell...he’s a progressive.

Does not make Any sense to me. But, if Lindsey Graham were the “Republican” I would vote for the donk simply because they could not do as much damage to us as McCain and Graham

I know what you mean, but when moving away from emotion and looking at this realistically, they can and do and will, in fact, do a lot more damage than the GOP-e.

And what do you propose be done for the FL governor’s election between Rick Scott and (probably) Charlie Crist, given that Rick Scott just signed into law in-state tuition for illegals? Should I hold my nose and vote for a candidate that has put legals citizens behind illegals?

do a lot more damage than the GOP-e.

The liberal republican leadership actively HELPS the liberal democrat agenda by providing crucial cloture votes and going against conservatives.

The GOPe’s have done nothing to stop the damage thus far.
It was not long ago we heard the same nonsense from folks who
said the same thing.

We controlled all three branches of gov not that long and the GOP spent like
drunken sailors. Is your memory that bad?
You enjoy being abused by the GOPe’s. It’s that simple.

Even at $100 per entry, the Mouse is screwing Floridians less than Scott is with the in-state tuition for illegals thing.

I don’t know what’s wrong with you that you keep asking me to defend McConnell. I’ve told you I hate the guy but whatever GOP does or doesn’t do, there are at least some good Republicans. Democrats there are none.

My question to you is why are you so determined to elect Democrats? If it’s just your hatred for RINOs driving you then you need to seek counseling.

There’s a bigger picture than McConnell, bigger than Cochran or any of the others. It’s the United States of America and we’d better stop fighting each other and start fighting Democrats or we’re going to lose the real prize.

Yet that is what many are doing in advocating Kentuckians vote for Alison Lundergan Grimes.

Apparently with some FReepers, their anger at McConnell and Cochran overrides the ongoing disdain for Harry Reid. The continuation of Harry Reid as Majority Leader is seen as worth the cost of opposing McConnell and Cochran.

From ACE today:

The professional political class must be displaced in favor of an amateur political class, which — for its first several years, at least — will in fact be more interested in revolution than racket.

As I’ve written several times, amateurs have their own weaknesses. But this process of renewal — the replacement of old, complacent, self-interested spirits with fresh ones — is vital.

Without it, a movement dies.
