How much support did Thad Cochran get from the GOP and associated PACs?

Does anyone have a list? Crap like this is what I’ve been throwing back at the GOP/PACs when they call for money.

“When the Republican Establishment acts like Democrats, what is the point of supporting them?” Mr. Phillips said in an early morning email blast. “The answer is, we don’t have to.

So, this is the last thing you were going to post before going to work. I get it now. Anyway, this guy is right. There is no need to support Cochran. We shall see, but it is possible he will lose his a$$ in November. My feeling is, that not many conservatives will vote for a rat, as much as they will sit it out. Cochran may be in for a shock.

Give it up, Mississippi has a sore loser law.

A “sore-loser law” states that the loser in a primary election can’t then run as an independent in the general election These laws do not apply to presidential candidates
States that have sore-loser laws

Mississippi
Ohio
Pennsylvania
South Dakota
Texas

Seeing that it took me only 15 seconds to determine that Mississippi has a sore loser law, just how much credence does that give Judson Phillips in the arena of knowing what he is talking about.

The phonies that are the titular heads of these get rich quick national tea party groups are never more revealed as in this race. All of them were there in Mississippi but nobody wanted anything to do with David Brat.

It is nothing more than send me money so I can make a living flapping my jaw about things I know nothing about. Did you know that virtually all of them are agitators with histories as political consultants? Just the kind of people I want to send my money to, NOT!

If McDaniel has aspirations to run for the U.S. Senate again in six years, he would be better served by conceding graciously and focusing on improving his record in the state senate. Even before the campaign, he had the worst attendance record of any sitting state senator and of the 38 bills he has introduced, none have passed. He would not win in a write-in campaign. All it would do is siphon votes from Cochran and give Democrats a better chance of picking up the seat. Tea Party members and those who align with McDaniel may not care much for Cochran, but they should care about keeping the seat in Republican hands until they can groom McDaniel better or find another candidate they think can win in six years.

What’s wrong with reaching out to Democrats. Ronald Reagan would won the presidency in no small part to “Reagan Democrats.” Excluding anyone from the Republican Party only makes it harder to win elections. For example, the current issue of the New Yorker has a lengthy, mostly-positive article on Ted Cruz. However, it mentions that at the most recent Texas Republican Convention, the John Birch Society was allowed to have a booth, but the Log Cabin Republicans were not.

I would not vote for Cochran in November.

If Mississippi is gonna elect a big government, self interested nanny, let it be a Democrat.

For what it’s worth and that may not be very much....

http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2011/01/16/5247199.htm

According to state law, write-in candidates are permitted only as the legitimate substitute
of a candidate who has died, resigned, withdrawn or been removed from the race.

That applies to every race, whether it’s a primary, special or general election at
any level of government, said Pamela Weaver, communications director of the secretary of
state’s office.

But every election ballot includes a space for write-in candidates, whether or not one
is needed for that race. It’s there just in case a write-in does become eligible.

And that’s perhaps where the confusion occurs, since some people see the space and assume
write-ins are allowed in all elections.
end snip

This could be terminal to any future he might have in politics unless he was absolutely sure he would win.

Best chance for McDaniel is if Cochran is on the other side of the grass before the election!

I’ve given it some thought and there’s nothing stopping The Establishment from pulling this stunt over and over again in states with open primaries (and even states with closed primaries, but it’s tougher).

COCRAN MUST LOSE - we must show The Establishment that they still WILL NOT re-elect (or elect) their precious candidates if they do this stunt. If it means the Democrat winning in Mississippi, SO BE IT. If it means losing the Senate by one vote, SO BE IT. We cannot sit back and watch our elections be STOLEN from under us, by OUR OWN PARTY.
