If a certain fecal matter had been the only instance of disrepute revealed from within the ranks of the Environmental Protection Agency today, that would have been more than enough; alas it wasnt.
(snip)
The environmental agency is having trouble locating emails belonging to a former agency employee and pulling information from his crashed hard drive, House members revealed Wednesday while questioning Administrator Gina McCarthy at a hearing on complaints of mismanagement.
What is it with bureaucrats and public employees the hard drives crash? asked Rep. Kerry Bentivolio (R-Mich.).
He and others on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee questioned McCarthy about missing information related to the committees investigation into the potential environmental impact of a proposed gold and copper mine in the Bristol Bay watershed in Alaska. McCarthy kept insisting throughout the hearing that were having trouble getting information off of it and are trying different ways...

I have had various computers since 1998 and only had
a hard drive crash last month after six years of continuous
use. This whole thing stinks of cover-up.
Right now she’s lucky irate Americans aren’t dragging
her out to a lamp post.
I bet they are quaking in their boots over at the EPA.
“The DEMOCRAT PARTY is a CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE!!!”
“The Dems are SO used to their constituents being so STUPID, they think we are ALL STUPID!!!!”
Absolutely, and the Democrats may be cunning, resourceful, but they too are just as stupid by thinking everybody else is stupid, but themselves. In the end IF we don’t get them first they will do themselves in with their stupid arrogance, and overreaching.
Really . . . and exactly what teeth does contempt of Congress have? Lerner is in contempt - and she is still walking around free and not in a cage and fettered. In fact, contempt of a Republican congress is but a badge of honour to these pukes.
Personally I’ve had more WD drives fail than any other. Including Maxtor. Seagate’s seem to like me better.
Wow - I've always had problems with Seagates...oh well...different strokes...;-)
You have EPA people taking a dump in the halls. Email security must not be high on their priority list.
Or, they just lie. And squat.
Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, commonly referred to as the RICO Act or simply RICO, is a United States federal law that provides for extended criminal penalties and a civil cause of action for acts performed as part of an ongoing criminal organization. The RICO Act focuses specifically on racketeering, and it allows the leaders of a syndicate to be tried for the crimes which they ordered others to do or assisted them.
So is Holder.
Holder wears his contempt on his sleeve like a Nazi armband.
Congress is contemptuous.
I’ve never seen a more disgusting group of people.
If Congress does start to exercise its authority it will lose the remainder of its significance.
Start locking people up!
There are jail cells under the capital.
Irs and Epa are criminal enterprises and need to got rid of.
Hasn’t anyone in the federal government heard of a HD backup
Ha, Ha, Catch us if you can.
The government has become a criminal enterprise and is at war with it's citizens.
In the case of contempt, Congress began early in its history to protect its ability to compel testimony to it by private citizens and executive officials by arresting and jailing in the Capitol those who refused to cooperate. The first case dates to 1795. The Supreme Court in 1821, in Anderson v. Dunn, recognized Congress inherent power but noted that the power was limited to the least power adequate to the end proposed, and the court limited imprisonment, saying it could not last beyond the adjournment of Congress. Congress passed a statute in 1857 to allow longer terms of imprisonment as well as allowing it to turn contempt cases over to the courts for indictment and trial, with penalties including fines of not more than $1,000 nor less than $100″ and imprisonment in a common jail of not less than one month nor more than twelve months.
And here is the red flag:
The practice in the 20th century, at least, has been to turn cases over to the Justice Department to handle and allow the courts to intervene if the case involved a tension between legislative and executive prerogatives; 1934 was the last time Congress used its inherent power and handled the prosecution of a contempt case itself.
Jail times and massive fines.
Contempt of Congress” charges???
Yawn...
I believe most of not ALL government agencies are required, by law. to have a system in place to archive and retrieve all electronic/data communications for many years...IIRC
So if they (an agency) has failed to do so, those who are accountable for the data/information should already be changing clothes...
You know, orange IS the new black...
Seems a reasonable expectation...These contempt of Congress charges and the threat to implement them are empty of substance...
Sure does make for some compelling narratives, that pass for news these days...
If I had a hard drive
I'd crash it in the morning
I'd crash it in the evening
Just to cover my hide
I'd wipe out E-mails
I'd wipe out surfed websites
I'd wipe out embarrassment to my political party
All over this land.
If I had a lie
I'd tell it in the morning
I'd tell it in the evening
while under oath
I'd lie about corruption
I'd lie about tyranny
I'd lie about the well laid snare to undermine all freedoms
all over this land
If I ran an agency
I'd abuse it in the morning
I'd abuse it in the evening all over this land
I'd wipe out freedom
I'd wipe out Bill Of Rights
I'd wipe out all opposition orgs
all over this land.
If I had corruption
I'd spread it in the morning
I'd spread it in the evening
all over this land
I'd pay off the congress
I'd pay off judges, I'd pay off the media
I pay off all DA's all over this land.
