Imagine sitting down to dinner at a restaurant with your family when in walks a handful of men armed with assault rifles. Are you frightened, maybe angry? Or do they make you feel safe?
Thats the question at the center of a bitter and increasingly public battle surrounding a group of gun-carrying activists in Texas, who brazenly flex their legal right to bear arms by carrying around assault rifles in public. The group calls themselves Open Carry Texas. Their enthusiasm for packing heat in public has led national chains like Chipotle, Chilis and Jack in the Box to ask customers to leave their firearms at home.
What the group is doing is perfectly legal in Texas, but they have come to represent the line in the sand between those in America who fear the violent use of guns and those who fear losing their guns....
As for his controversial marches, Grisham says they help show people that guns are not always something to be feared. When pressed, he acknowledged that he knows he may be scaring some people, but that these people have what he calls an irrational fear of guns.
For many people, that fear is not at all irrational. The latest FBI data shows that firearms are responsible for 69 percent of homicides in the United States. But in America, the gun debate goes further than statistics. The conversation about gun rights in this country cannot escape the dark shadow of the horrific mass murders that happened in places like Aurora and Sandy Hook....

“This sort of trolling is likely to prove counterproductive, IMO....”
It might be a good idea. The left has been very successful with the “in your face” approach.
Are those firearms loaded or are they just for show and tell?
Byron Pitts is an idiot.
It may be counterproductive, or it may finally make people realize that we’re safer when armed. I’m a skeptic on this tactic, but I’ll admit that I could be wrong. Particularly if open carriers acted like democrats in the sense of stacking the deck - plants in the restaurant before they arrived with others coming after to say they liked it and felt safer - this could work. Personally, I feel much safer around ordinary people who are armed.

What if you went to a resturaunt that Hillary was at with her security, her ARMED security was at.... How would YOU feel? Huh, ABC, how would YOU feel you sanctimounous sacks of shit???
What if the men with assault rifles were soldiers from the local millitary base?
I hate ABC and their holier than thou baiting on this
OH MY GOD!!! TANKS AND GUNS AND RIFLES EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!
OH MY GOD I DON'T FEEL SAFE THERE....
OH, WAIT IT IS RED SQUARE....
I FEEL SAFE CAUSE THOSE ARE GOVERNMENT GUNS!!!!
WHEW....

“We’re Here, We’re armed, You will not be Harmed”
I like to wear my Arab robes when I carry my AK, people seem to appreciate it as a fashion statement, their eyes follow me everywhere.
Grisham is one stupid antic away from being dead meat.
Last year when he attempted to grab his weapon back from an LEO who was correctly and legally securing it during a disturbance; he was damn lucky that cop just didn’t shoot him on the spot.
One of these days, their silly games aren’t going to end well. It could have been last Sunday when OCT was gonna march through a black neighborhood, but someone must have sobered up and realized that was probably not a good idea.
They canceled that one.
I guess you watched a different video than I did. The jack boot didn't ask Grisham for his weapon, he just grabbed at it and then went ape feces when Grisham pulled back. I will grant you that Grisham is lucky officer Rambo didn't murder him for the disrespect.
Back in Tombstone Arizona, the Earps (and other Sheriffs) made people check their guns in at the Sheriffs office. You could get them again when you left town ... :-) ...
But, it still didn’t stop the Shootout at OK Corral!
This kind of stuff has been going on for a very long time.
Personally, I don’t care if these people are armed or not. If armed, the are not going to attack me. Eventually, there will be some great statistics showing that businesses are not robbed when armed customers are present.
Pardon me for observing that you have an extraneous adjective in you screen name.
Loaded, and some of the dudes walk around with their fingers on the trigger guard, itching for a chance to start blasting away.
Not sure if those guys are agents provocateur or just idiots.
If they are carrying them loaded and at the ready, I'm calling the base commander first, and my congressman second, and I'm not going to stop until a bunch of idiots got early retirement - preferably at Leavenworth.

The reason i bring this up is if Obama declares martial law the libs will be all fine and happy with it....
the videos of them I have seen have them slung over their backs
posing for still pictures is probably all they were doing

Like pouring blood on random people wearing fur, pretending to be a piece of meat on a tray and going unshowered for months defecating in city parks?
Since I'm a concealed weapon carrier who is not used to seeing citizens walking around armed, I would likely tell my family to hit the floor and draw my firearm in anticipation of a gunfight........
In your face antics like this are just as effective as the LGBT in your face parades......
While they certainly have their rights, they're doing nothing but pissing people off...........
