Washington (CNN) - Expanding his IRS investigation by more than two decades, House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa, R-California, has sent a subpoena to the Federal Elections Commission for all communications involving former IRS administrator Lois Lerner from January 1, 1986 to the present day.
This new search is the broadest-yet for records in a year-long investigation by Issa and congressional Republicans, who are trying to assess why the agency targeted tea party and other political groups for extra scrutiny.

Let me know when someone issues an arrest warrant.
This smells funny to me. What do y’all think?
Casting a wide net and see what is dredged up...like it.
Has Issa ever actually accomplished a damn thing with his endless hearings? Besides making himself look like an opportunistic jerk, that is.
Lois Lerner ? Never worked here
That’s plowing deep. Something will sprout.
wasn’t she Clinton’s bulldog too?
So which hard drive will crash next.
Those hard drives at the FEC should be crashing any moment now...
This b!tch thought she was doing good while at both the FEC and IRS. To her, we are not political opponents, we are enemies. We oppose social justice. We are racist . . .
ANYTHING done to stop us is morally acceptable to these people.
Lerner represents one of thousands of untouchable Leftist radicals burrowed into the bureaucracy, who mission is to advance the rat party/government by any means necessary.
Pressure relief valve. Nothing but soma for the right wing masses.
No.
Who the hell is Issa gonna’ get to read these things?
I’ll bet it was STRONGLY WORDED too!
I think targeting a Senator was the final blow. Senators will now be more interested.
I predict on Friday there will be an IT disaster unlike anything anyone has ever witnessed. It’ll be like an EMP blast.. a crisis so dire that every harddrive and component of electronic storage including tapes in hardened storage, removable disks, portable drives and phones will all fail at the same time eliminating all requested information. Along with magnets, small “construction related” fires, accidential shredders and just plain old government incompetence we will see a document purge bigger and more complete than Berlin before the Allies reached the city.
