It’s easy, eat real food instead of processed crap.
I am not advocating any regulation, btw, if people choose to eat crap, that’s their business.
Vitamin A may be a special case of dangerous. Mmmm... nutrition bars... it’s good if it tastes like clay.

does anyone besides me find this hilarious. they are constantly publishing studies,(funded i’m sure by big pharma), which apparently show that taking supplements is either worthless or bad, yet the fda either requires fortification or allows it of foods eaten in unknown daily quantities.

Scientists keep on embarrassing themselves.
They know it too, and the ultimate recommendation usually ends up being to keep your diet varied so that you don’t get too much of any one thing.

Yeah. Cereals and snack bars have no nutritional value other than making people fat so the addition of vitamins allows them to be called nutritional. I mean, eat the stuff if you like it, but don't kid yourself that it's good for you.
Margarine? Butter!
Canola oil? olive oil!
Red meat? Chicken now fish! Now red meat does not cause heart disease!
White bread? Natural grains now glutin (sp?) free!

And the studies they have done, were animal feeding studies not people feeding studies.
Severe chronic lack of, say, a vitamin can produce problems. The body has ways of working around mild to moderate “malnutrition.”
It might be better to wolf down some bacon and eggs than a bowl of cereal.
