A federal appeals court ruled Wednesday that states outlawing same-sex marriage are in violation of the U.S. Constitution.
By upholding a Utah judge’s decision, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals became the first appeals court to rule on the issue, setting a historic precedent that voter-approved bans on same-sex marriage violate the Fourteenth Amendment rights of same-sex couples to equal protection and due process.
But the court stayed the implementation of their decision, pending a decision from the U.S. Supreme Court.
The appeals court upheld U.S. Judge Robert Shelby’s December decision, which struck down Utah’s ban on same-sex marriage.
The appeals court said, "A state may not deny the issuance of a marriage license to two persons, or refuse to recognize their marriage, based solely upon the sex of the persons in the marriage union."
The split ruling affects all states in the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals: Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah and Wyoming.

The judges split 2-1. Dissenter was appointed by George HW Bush. The other two were Clinton and George W Bush appointees.
It’s insanity that our courts are even considering this nonsense!...The underlings of the world are running through every avenue of courts and legal loopholes to take this country even further into the depths of depravity and enjoying their ride as they do so. “Freedom†to them is the right to remake the standards of decency this country once knew and abided by in order to flaunt their atrocities without judgment..

Time and time again the people want to stop it and time and time again the courts block them. Interesting times.
Then single people should get all of the rights and privileges that married folk do just cuz. They are people too.
We define folks in all sorts of ways and deny or bestow favor on them based on all sorts if criteria. We have said the sex of a married couple IS important and we have decided that it should consist of one man and one woman to call it marriage.
Period.
Not exactly sure what the actual legalities of this are. They ARE being protected by the laws of the country and they do get due process. They simply cannot call themselves married any more than I can call myself a minority and help myself to the bennies that accrue to them.

Yep. Apparently there will be more. But in the meantime, we continue to watch the bad guys win - until they don’t.
I have a buddy that I keep kidding about being able to get him great medical benefits if we were only “gay married.” Of course we are both staunch Christians and it’s a joke, but it’s a sad joke.
Maybe, if this madness can’t be repulsed (constitutional amendment?) the government should cede the issue of marriage to houses of religious worship, and only recognize “households.” (As in, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household.) Marriage already was a Swiss cheese of issues before this as all the other associated virtues fell on the ground.

Homosexuality is the living out of sinful attitudes, driven by the power of demons. People can be delivered from it by the power of Jesus Christ. And Rome should not pussyfoot around in asserting this.

The same sex marriage scourge on the USA steamrolls on unabated & largely unchallenged as the body of Christ especially passive pastors mostly sit on the sidelines.Such a sad reflection on US all that is. 20 states down-30 to go to approve homosexual marriage which for most of history has been illegal & taboo worldwide.There are several court cases pending on my states constitutional ban on such so its probably just a matter of time before some jaded judge strikes it down here which amounts to abuse of power/judicial tyranny.It never ceases to amaze me that these sorely misguided magistrates have the audacity & gall to believe they have the authority to overrule & supercede Almighty God/thus saith the Lord.Nothing could be further from the truth.The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.(Psalm 2:-4) Do they not know it is an abomination for kings to do evil, for the throne is established by righteousness(Proverbs16:12) They will give account thereof when they appear before our Creator one day with nary a leg to stand on to excuse or justify themselves as will all those other rulers who go along with such evil edicts sheepishly.
