Ted Cruz: 'I Certainly Congratulate' Thad Cochran
Breitbart ^ | June 25, 2014 | Charlie Spiering

Chris McDaniel may have refused to concede the Mississippi Senate primary without a challenge, but Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) appears to be moving on after the Tea Party suffered primary defeats last night.

“I certainly congratulate my colleague, Thad,” Cruz said on Fox and Friends Wednesday morning, pointing out that the Republican establishment poured millions into the Mississippi race and only won by a thin margin. Cruz reminded the hosts that he did not endorse a candidate in the Mississippi primary, as he promised to stay out of incumbent Senate races.

But Cruz insisted that Cochran’s narrow victory should be a warning for Republicans in Washington, D.C. “I think that demonstrates that there is a lot of hunger for change. People are frustrated with Washington, and they're hungry for leaders who will stand up and make the case we need to go a different path,” Cruz said.

Lol. I avoid basketball :)

There is no doubt that every state in America has work to do, and I mean a lot of it, if we are going to survive as a nation. I love Cruz. I just wish he hadn’t said what he said. It’s a rare error for him to have done so.

Ohh Good grief! It probably meant that he kicked or shot at dogs/cats, castrated hogs or things along those lines. THAT was the culture he grew up in. To equate that remark with bestiality is ignorant...to say the least.

And trust me... I did NOT want Cochran to win....for several solid reasons.

Hey I didn’t say bestiality, I just got the quote for you.

Regardless of what he meant, it was NOT the way to say it, nor should he have said anything along those lines. It showed his ignorance and the fact that he’s out of touch with what people would think about such a comment.

1. I was NOT comparing Reagan with Cochran in my post.

2. I was simply wondering why democrats voting for a republican is bad by itself. We all know demograahics in the country favor more every day. So ALL republicans can use democrat crossover votes.

2. I agree 100% Reagan NEVER disparaged another republican.
That was one his most sterling qualities.

4. What may be bad about crossover votes by democrats in this primary is that 99% of them will vote for the Rat in general. I understand that.

5. I was rooting for McDaniel to win here, never for Cochran.

6. In my honest opinion, McDaniel narrowly lost this primary election because he was too honest. Unfortunately that does not work today. He could have been more conciliatory to all factions. It is very difficult to win from only conservative voters. That is just the reality today. That does NOT mean conservatives should compromise principles. But if they want to win, they must learn to sugarcoat the message. Reagan was a master at that. I remember watching his every speech on TV. I became a US citizen in 1970 and have followed politics closely since then.

I see no way to reclaim it peacefully except by controlling an important media source. Liberals have those locked up, too, it would seem.

I hate this depressing thought, but I do recognize the truth of it.

I totally agree. By the way, that post was addressed to two people, one of whom DID use that word.

The time for civility has come and gone.

A long time ago.

"Favorinus (c. 110 AD), who observed that faint and half-hearted praise was more harmful than loud and persistent abuse.[3]"

Subtlety can be very entertaining to those in the know.

If he’d kicked dogs or shot at cats the quote would have been ‘done indecent things TO animals’.

‘Done indecent things WITH animals’ has a whole different connotation.

Not necessarily. Misspeak due to his age and intellectual capacity or due to the stress of the situation is not improbable.

I can buy that at his age.

But not remembering having said it the next day is more incriminating of plain old senility.

entropy12:

Your tagline says it all. Any old POS will do in any election so long as it is a ruling class GOP-E POS.

Reagan Democrats were the backbone of the Reagan rebellion. Cochrane Demonrats were culled from the welfare rolls of the most Demonratic sections of Mississippi. Without the votes of Obozo's faithful professional Demonrats (totally different agenda than Reagan Democrats or the GOP base), Thad Animal Molester GOP-E Cochrane loses by about 8 points. With those Demonrat votes, Thaddie squeaks out a 2% victory over McDaniel, the candidate of normal Americans and normal Republicans.

This Senate race gives real Republicans a chance to make history. Vote for Democrat I: Travis Childers (pro-life and anti-Obozocare) rather than Demonrat II: Thad Cochrane who cannot be trusted on either of those issues as an admitted animal, ummmm, lover (peee-ewwww!). Mitchie the Turtle McConnell wanted this tool to serve yet another term and to vote for Mitchie, the big business flim flam man, as Majority Leader and to serve the Chamber of Commerce until Haley Boss Hogg Barbour orders Cochrane to resign from the Senate so that a new servant of Wall Street and K Street can be appointed.

So far, many of us refuse to vote for Chatsworth Worthington XXXII in the form of Trust Fund Mitt Romney. Wanna expand that to Senate, Congress and Gubernatorial races??? Keep on supporting brain dead greedheads like Thad Cochrane. I will not vote for Mark Nancyboy Kirk as my Senator, nor for moderate corrupticon "Main Street" Adam Kinzinger as my Congressthing. If that sleazebag former VA Lt. Governor Bolling (Mittens' VA Chairman, natch!) ever seeks office again, he should be destroyed. No one even remotely associated with Bolling should be tolerated either. Let us have "heads on pikes."

No mercy. No quarter. Rule or ruin!

It is long past time for an internal rage and temper tantrum in the GOP and in the nation. Purge the corrupt Wall Street/K Street $$$$ bastards once and for all. Research their scandals and expose them. Pick them apart as to their voting records and their fundraising. Destroy their reputations. Make the profession of politics too painful for these useless treasonweasels to continue. Make politics be beneath their alleged "dignity." Then beat them at conventions and in primaries and, failing that, in general elections. Run third party right wingers against them to bleed votes and to remind the general public that some of us still retain our principles.

Make it crystal clear that the purpose of politics is not government jobs or contracts or the profits of big business masters of the GOP-E but PRINCIPLES and that defectors from that goal are finished.

He’s not in a position to publicly question the outcome of a senatorial primary of another state

He’s a sitting senator

And he’s not criticizing anyone who is questioning it

So you can cut him some slack or demand that he shoot off his mouth and end up in non electable land

Rush brought this up, on today’s show. He alluded to something about horses.

He then sang a few bars of “Old MacDonald Had a Farm”....

His point was that McDaniel’s campaign didn’t - to Rush’s knowledge - use CochRan’s disgusting comment to their advantage.

1. Yes you were comparing conservative democrats on their own voting for Reagan and conservative principles in a general election with liberal democrats being courted by liberal principles, ways and means and slanderous tactics to decide the vote in a republican primary.

2. You feel the intentional subversion of republican primaries by the democrats is a good thing. Got it!

3. What was done in Mississippi was not just disparaging another republican, it was disparaging to every member of the party because the will of the party was subverted.

6. Your opinion sounds like RINO patronizing. You feel McDaniel lost because he could not lie and stab people in the back like RINOs. By forgetting the fact that the opposition party and their tactics were employed by the eventual so-called winner, your premise is wrong. McDaniel won the republican vote last night. He lost the democrat vote and that is what gave Cochran the win over the will and desires of the entire republican party and its voters.

I’ve been a US citizen all my life. Before you became a citizen in 1970. I have never in my life heard Reagan sugarcoat and tell lies the way you imagine he did.
