HATTIESBURG, Mississippi Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) survived the most intense challenge hes ever faced in his 41-year political career, winning a runoff against conservative state Sen. Chris McDaniel.
The Associated Press called the race for Cochran, who is up 6,880 votes with 99.9 percent of precincts reporting.

I’m sick of Dementocrats voting in Republican primaries. Mandate closed primaries, make opportunistic party switching into a crime of treason. Cochran ought to be in jail for what he just did.
It is basically saying that you can cross over vote, but ONLY if you intend to support that candidate in the general election. It also seems to be saying that you can vote for the loser in a primary, but only if you intend to support the winner.
Am I reading those wrong?
It's a double-edged sword. How many of McDaniel voters are now saying there is no way they'll vote for Cochran? McDaniel himself has refused to say if he'll support him.
All they have to say is “I changed my mind” and the “intended” to vote for requisite is thrown out the window.
You’re reading it right, but, unfortunately that clause has no teeth. What MS (and every state) should do is establish party registration and get rid of the open primary.
That might allow him on the ballot and at the same time throw out the sore loser law.
MS has had that law on the books since 1906. You’d think someone would have attempted
that route since then.
Cochran for President 2016.
He can get out the Black vote.
It would obviously split the vote? & then chance Childers gets in..
Good plan! Get that to Chris. Everyone assumes that Chris's people would have already thought of that but I've found they're often surprised by a smart approach.
He’s better off, as are all who voted for him or would have liked to have voted for him, if he lives to fight another day. Why commit political suicide unnecessarily? What purpose would that serve.
Medved has lost his mind, I just heard him ask why is it a bad thing Cochran reached out for the black dem voters...

yeah, especially when you KNOW that all those blacks are going to vote for Cochran in the general, right?
If I were the Dem candidate right now I’d be thrilled beyond words and would also have worked to get black Dems voting for Cochran.
Patrick Henry’s “Give me liberty, or give me death!” should be changed to “Give me liberty, or give me political death!”
This “live to fight another day” mantra is too little too late. The battle is now and I say we get in the fight with Chris to expose these rats.
I am sick to death of the ‘they cheated but won so nothing to do’ crap. They cheated and if there is even a small chance to overturn that then do it!
He is quite athletic, though. Notice how quickly he can assume the Gluteal Osculatory Yoga Posture when The Dick Morris, or Karl (The Architect) Rove come on his show.
The GOP-e has officially become the conservative wing of the democrat party.
Does MS even tabulate write-in votes; many states do not.
” Notice how quickly he can assume the Gluteal Osculatory Yoga Posture when The Dick Morris, or Karl (The Architect) Rove come on his show. “
I was hoping to hear Hannity invite his main squeeze Karl Rove onto his show today, to see what bizarre position Hannity would twist himself into in order to accommodate his newfound anger at the GOPe while simultaneously sucking up to Karl (The Architect).
Mitch McConnell is sending out emails trolling for contributions to the National Republican Senate Committee (NRSC) which funds GOPe (elite/establishment) senatorial candidates while laboring to kill off conservative and tea party GOP candidates.
I just sent a blue dart off to McConnell. Go and do thou likewise! It takes less than a minute to type a line or two of how you REALLY feel about what happened in Mississippi. Put your main complaint succinctly in the title line. Mine read, "SHAME, SHAME....."
"No more contributions!" works well, also....heheh.
Here's the addy....Info@NRSC.org.
This is a Freep! This what we're here for!
