ALBUQUERQUE, NM On Saturday, June 21, Protest ABQ held a public awareness campaign in a local neighborhood when a man, identified by group members as Jay McCleskey, Gov. Susana Martinezs Re-Election Campaign Manager and Chief Campaign Strategist, confronted the pro-life activists stating, You are all pieces of S***!
The pro-life community has been asking Gov. Martinez what she is willing to do to STOP pre-born child killing in New Mexico. We have been completely ignored until today, stated a pregnant and astonished Tara Shaver who was present with her husband and children. Several members of our group identified Mr. McCleskey and heard his vulgarity and harsh words.

When is the GOP going to wake up and realize that these so-called “campaign managers” or “consultants” .. don’t care if you win .. they get paid either way.
Sadly, Gov. Martinez believes their garbage and has allowed herself to be aligned with people who are supposedly against everything she stands for.
And .. she’s been touted as “presidential” material .. sorry, I’m not interested.
The story was written by a reporter for the number one pro-life news aggregator on the web, lifesitenews.com
That gives it credibility with me.
I am wondering how quickly this campaign manager will last. Governor Martinez has a promising career ahead of her, but not if she has idiots on her team. She should get clear of this as quickly as possible.
That’s your prerogative. If true, and there isn’t more to this story, I’ll be very disappointed.
I don’t have to pretend you’re ignorant of history.
There is a bit more to it, on both sides.
First the confrontation took place in the neighborhood, if not outside of McCleskey's home which would make anyone testy:
A group of anti-abortion protesters camped out near McCleskey's home in ABQ over the weekend( New Mexico Politics with Joe Monahan, Monday, June 23, 2014 )
However, McCleskey does not have a good track record in providing sound advice to Susana. Though a political consultant, he's moved into her inner governing circle and has isolated her from business and GOP party leaders who feel this election is hers to lose. See this article from last fall's National Journal:
Martinez allies say that his mercenary, dog-eat-dog style of politics now superseded the act of governing, and that he had effectively walled off any other voices from pricking the governor's eardrums, let alone her conscience. The Man Who Discovered Susana Martinez Could Also Be Her Downfall
I still support Susana, but gaffes like this plus the Democrats hammering her over continued job loses (mainly government but others including manufacturing and construction BLS: NM one of only two states with year-over-year job losses (June 23, 2014)). Job loses would have been worse if not for the boom in the oil patch which gained 3,300 jobs (production and transportation). Other jobs which gained were service industry related in health-care and hospitality, but these are not generally high-paid jobs. The scary part about the NM economy is that if the Democratic candidate wins, we will be back in the Richardson era where the enviro-nutters will again take charge and put the brakes on fossil fuel energy development and have us all looking at windmills and solar panels, and increased taxes and more bureaucratic government jobs will depress our state economy even more.
Well, you are aware that I am the guy who invented the word Enemedia. Enemy+Media
I came up with that after the media worked desperately to attempt to make America feel like we’re losing the wars waged in the last decade.
Could he have handled it differently? Yes, but it sounds to me like this group was looking to provoke some reaction they could then use. The story as presented by this group does not tell the whole story.

Thanks for that info Jaguar. It certainly shows the other side of the story. I am pro-life also, but certainly don’t condone the tactics that were used here!
Considering the protesters were standing outside her campaign manager’s home (not in the story as they were trying to slant it in a different way) and a young child saw these images and ran in crying, I can’t blame him. The child was obviously upset and whether or not he was the campaign manager’s child or not, it sent him over the edge. I’m sure it would have sent me out there swearing too.
When they're all crying perhaps our mission will be close to finished.
I disagree, respectfully.
My view was...Republican or democrat. Doing that is disgusting no matter what party.
Thanks for the explanation, Jag... I was about to get angry (at Susana and her people). Now I don’t have to
Thanks for the ping, Dave.
So sorry that I’m not as “enlightened” as some of the pro-choice supporters on FR who resort to referring to pro-lifers as pieces of $hit...
Again, just how is your supposed analogy of criminal soldiers doing the “dirty work” even remotely comparable to calling pro-lifers pieces of $hit?
The question still remains unanswered by the OP’s defenders. Thus, by extension and default, they fall into the same category as the OP
All because I questioned a poster’s choice of descriptors...
And they have yet to respond. How curious.
Not curious at all.
You changed the subject from the original assertion.
Who wants to have a discussion with someone who can’t, or won’t, even understand the basic question raised?
Thank you, Jaguar. I am very sorry for the children.
Thank you, Dave, for the ping to 48.
We are obligated to protect the eyes of our little ones. The barbary of abortion is worse even than the photos of the pictures that show it’s results.
Give as good as you get, when it comes to showing abortion, but spare the little ones. I know, war is Hell, and fighting it isn’t pretty either.
Thanks to you both.
PS The NM governor should probably address this affair herself, and not wear out her staff. It’s worthy of a comment by Martinez, herself. That is, if she cares about the issue.
Thanks fo the update on the location. This group sounds like Westboro baptist church.
They do not know who the enemy is
