That’s your prerogative. If true, and there isn’t more to this story, I’ll be very disappointed.

There is a bit more to it, on both sides.

First the confrontation took place in the neighborhood, if not outside of McCleskey's home which would make anyone testy:

A group of anti-abortion protesters camped out near McCleskey's home in ABQ over the weekend( New Mexico Politics with Joe Monahan, Monday, June 23, 2014 )

However, McCleskey does not have a good track record in providing sound advice to Susana. Though a political consultant, he's moved into her inner governing circle and has isolated her from business and GOP party leaders who feel this election is hers to lose. See this article from last fall's National Journal:

Martinez allies say that his mercenary, dog-eat-dog style of politics now superseded the act of governing, and that he had effectively walled off any other voices from pricking the governor's eardrums, let alone her conscience. The Man Who Discovered Susana Martinez Could Also Be Her Downfall

I still support Susana, but gaffes like this plus the Democrats hammering her over continued job loses (mainly government but others including manufacturing and construction BLS: NM one of only two states with year-over-year job losses (June 23, 2014)). Job loses would have been worse if not for the boom in the oil patch which gained 3,300 jobs (production and transportation). Other jobs which gained were service industry related in health-care and hospitality, but these are not generally high-paid jobs. The scary part about the NM economy is that if the Democratic candidate wins, we will be back in the Richardson era where the enviro-nutters will again take charge and put the brakes on fossil fuel energy development and have us all looking at windmills and solar panels, and increased taxes and more bureaucratic government jobs will depress our state economy even more.

Being that I live in NM, I just got off the phone with Susana's office. The young lady I spoke with has been fielding questions about this all day (the young lady was very pleasant by the way). Turns out, they were outside McCleskey's home and they were showing very graphic images where young kids could see them. At one point a young boy went inside crying at what he was being shown. As a practicing Catholic, I'm definitely pro-life, but I don't abide these kinds of tactics, and definitely with indifference to young kids. He was responding as a parent and, frankly, I would probably do the same thing if this group showed up with those graphic signs and my kids saw that.

Could he have handled it differently? Yes, but it sounds to me like this group was looking to provoke some reaction they could then use. The story as presented by this group does not tell the whole story.
