I said I would provide all the emails. We are providing all the emails. The fact that three years ago, some of themnot all of them, but some of themwere not available, I never said I would provide you emails we didnt have, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen told a Monday evening hearing of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
Frustrated Republicans and apologetic Democrats questioned Koskinen about Lois Lerners vanished emails for several hours, beginning with Committee Chair Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), who asked Koskinen if he knew those critical emails were missing when he testified before Issas committee on March 26but said nothing at the time about problems cropping up. [ ]
Later in the hearing, Koskinen was unable to remember when in Aprilbeginning, middle or endhe was told that some of Lerners emails were missing. Nor could he remember who told him, he testified.

Koskinen SMIRKS because he KNOWS that the White House will cover for him because he’s taking the arrows for Obama.
He’s a Democrat....they ALL LIE!!!
“O” has got away with this charade for so long, because he will not meet with anyone who he sees (or who his creatures see) as at all, his equivalent.
So in the end the question becomes: Where does ineptitude end and corruption begin?
At one point, I thought he and Cummings were going to run off and get a room together.
Bizarre.
Koskinen worked for NYC mayor Lindsay. As if that’s something to be proud of.
And would be willing to go into Witness Relocation (assuming Obama has not wrecked that program.)
Takeaway from last night was that Koskinen was asked if any effort was made to restore Lerner's emails from the incremental tape backup. These are the tapes that they claim to over write on a six month basis. They would have been extant at the time of the "crash".
Koskinen testified that no effort was made to recover the data from the tapes. That answer shows that he at least knew that to be an option. When asked WHY this was not done, he said it was too much work - too expensive.
This is a very thin cover story. It was fairly shocking when he threw it out there. Multiply this times the other six hard drives that are said to have "crashed" and obliterated emails from persons of interest. One of the Congressman did go into the probability of such happening within a time frame.
Now, I think they are going to try to sell this as unfortunate coincidence, aging equipment, overworked, underfunded staff, blah, blah, blah.
Slowly but surely some facts are coming out. One hopeful factoid caught me eye this morning. At the WH Press Briefing yesterday, it seems reporters were grilling Josh on how many world leaders Obama was talking with as opposed to how many Joe Biden was talking to.
Do we have confirmation that the WH counsel..the lady who used to work at the IRS.. who was subpoenaed will appear...
Maybe you are talking about SonaSoft? That was covered and the testimony was that it was utilized by the Chief Counsel Office for email backup of around 3,000 computers, not all of the IRS system.
I did not hear that their records had been accessed.
props to savedbygrace who DID point out that it WAS for the CCO and not the whole IRS.

I figure we can use the same one we did last night. Still on top in Breaking sidebar.
Last I heard is that the WH counsel and someone from Archives will appear.
Besides CSPAN, the House Oversight Committee had a stream going from their own website.
It could be that Cummings is freaking out over his involvement and is breaking down or it could have just been histrionics.
It was bizarre.
I kept thinking that that Mica had been reading Free Republic and had missed the point made by that poster.
“Koskinen testified that no effort was made to recover the data from the tapes. That answer shows that he at least knew that to be an option. When asked WHY this was not done, he said it was too much work - too expensive.”
My question would have been - if you didn’t have the funds or the technology to access it why didn’t you save it for Congress to make a decision about the expense.
Of course, Koskinen was not running IRS at the time.

This guy reeks of arrogance and dishonesty. Was he chosen by obama specifically to infuriate the American people? It p1$$es me off just to see the perpetual smug expression on his face.
Where is Vlad the impaler when you need him???
I’ve been saying it to everyone that cares...
They’ve (The usurper and his crew) got the goods on Issa, for that matter just about all of the current crop of congress. It makes no sense at all that the Repubs are not dropping the hammer down on these thugs. Every “scandal” is a slam dunk for the thugs doing a perp walk to the graybar.
I’ve read its because of Holder or that the Senate wouldn’t convict.. I just don’t buy it.
The only congress critters that speak out and that haven’t been neutered so to speak, are the ones they don’t have the dirt on. Ted Cruz and Trey Gowdy most notable.
Imagine if this were a Republican administration pulling this BS- The Dems would all be running around with their hair on fire screaming for impeachment, prison ETC.
Of course there is the collusion between the parties, They sure as heck don’t want the gravy train upset by us little ole conservatives/tea party types.
This guy is verbally spanking the committee GOP and then laughing. Not only is this unprofessional, he’s hostile.
He really deserves to be verbally slapped in the face.
Thank you, don. My opinion of you, which was already high, went up with that comment.
