An Arizona lawmaker plans to entertain so-called "chemtrail" conspiracy theories at a public hearing this week.
State Sen. Kelli Ward (R) told the Havasu News that she's heard from some constituents who were concerned about contrails from airplanes having an effect on both the mercury levels in their bloodstream and on the local weather.
"I have gotten a lot of communications from people who are concerned and there has been a sense that no one has been doing anything for them to address those concerns, she told the Havasu News. I cant do field tests on the water, but I can connect them to the people who do.
Those who ascribe to the chemtrail conspiracy theory believe the wispy clouds that trail behind flying jets, which are really just frozen water vapor, are chemical agents sprayed deliberately by the government to control the weather or cause health problems in the population.
The scientific community says that's all bunk. The communications director for Arizona's Department of Environmental Quality, Mark Shaffer, told the Havasu News that his department regularly fields inquiries from Arizona residents concerned about chemtrails.
"Our standard response has been that there is no credible scientific evidence about chemical spraying or geoengineering," he told the newspaper.
Ward, who gave an anti-government speech in support of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy back in April, told the Havasu News that she's confident there are no issues with local air and water quality. But she wants the ADEQ to reassure constituents who believe that the government may be altering those resources or the weather through chemtrails.
Every time they do chemtrailing there is some dramatic change in the weather. I noticed it this weekend and then it got very windy, Havasu County resident Jennifer Cramer told the newspaper. Im not a scientist and I dont know whats in the (chemtrails). I think we have a right to know instead of worry about it every day.
The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday at 5 p.m. local time at the Board of Supervisors Auditorium in Kingman, Ariz.
Most residents of Lake Havasu City moved there from California. That explains a lot.
One friend of mine believes in chemtrails. I told her that chemtrails increase a person’s gullibility.
sigh...
I have several friends who believe in them. I struggle to understand why anyone would believe this particular theory as opposed to something more “realistic”.
It’s not just in the sky. In Florida, I notice white foam in the water after boats pass by. It even raises and lowers the water along the shore in a rhythmic pattern for a couple of minutes.
I worked on aircraft in the 1960s and there were no chemicals in the condensate trails.
One person did point out to me that there was a trail AHEAD of the aircraft that looked like a sight blue streak. He said it was from the nose radar. On the ground, I’ve seen that blue streak ahead of quite a few aircraft.
FROM the ground, I’ve seen that blue streak.
LOL well done.
It seems like it would be pretty easy to fly another plane through a contrail, take samples and find its chemical makeup. Or would facts just screw up the conspiracy theory?
The first major nutty conspiracy theory I remember was the “We didn’t go to the moon” theory. All of the subsequent theories follow that same type of logic. They cannot prove they are right so they focusing on proving everyone else is wrong.
There have been extensive studies done. At most they found the particulate matter you would expect to find in burned jet fuel.
It has been my opinion for years that this is a real phenomenon.
It has been my opinion for years that there is a certain percentage of the population that reacts with knee jerk ridicule whenever this subject, and the people who “believe” it, is brought up for discussion.
It is currently my opinion that there are many such people here on FR.
To anyone here who falls into that category, let me say the following: While I think the intention behind the phenomenon, and any possible negative effects it causes, are both still in the realm of conjecture, any simpleton can observe the the phenomenon - routinely and prominently occurring in plain view in many locations - and determine that these are not simply contrails occurring within normal air traffic routes. Look up, and study it for yourself, reflect soberly on what our government has been engaged in repeatedly over the past few decades, and only then dismiss it and the people who are concerned.
Flame away if you must.
Someone did.
But the results disappeared mysteriously. All evidence that the test took place vanished.
Bum..bum..bumbum.
You should start a web site and collect eyewitness stories from around the globe, on that disturbing theory.
All I see are contrails from airplanes. The same contrails that were seen over Europe in WW2.
So why do you think the government is spraying you? What is their purpose?
I guess the folks who listen to Alex and C2C will all show up
good response
I work outdoors and I’ve seen it.
If you have an understanding of 8th grade science you can figure it out in a matter of minutes.
The timing of the vapor trail is what is important.
It has to be late in the afternoon about 4:30-5:00.
The temp has to be hot with high humidity and no wind.
The plane(s) have to be flying from east to west almost directly into the sun.
The plane leaves a vapor trail and because of the time of day the sunlight hits the vapor trail at an angle and reflects off, cooling the air under the vapor trail.
The hot moist air then gets pulled up and into the cooler air.
Because of the amount of moisture in the air the vapor trail gets darker.
The darker it gets the faster the air cools under it and the faster the hot moist air gets pulled into it.
You can get yourself a pretty violent little storm from it.
I think a lot of it stems from the fact that the government in general has been getting more an more malignant towards the citizenry,
so why wouldn’t they do something like this?
I don’t believe that they are actually doing it, but it certainly isn’t out of the realm of possibility of what they WOULD do to us.
