Venezuela, a country that takes great pride in its looks, is dealing with an issue that has the country in a major tizzy shortages in beauty products. That means women and men so accustomed to looking their best are now having to do without shampoo, cosmetics and, hold your breath, even deodorant.
The cash-strapped government has been dealing with all sorts of scarcities from staples like milk to medical supplies because the country has put controls on the purchase of hard currency.
And while certain shortages have been more critical like diapers and coffins Venezuelans are still taking the beauty supply crisis seriously.
Shelves in drug stores are virtually empty. Items like nail polish and baby wipes are hard to come by.
Jesús Guillén, a sales clerk in a drugstore in the neighborhood of Altamira in east Caracas, has seen the shortage problem evolve on a daily basis.

I agree . I have many dealings in Latin America, primarily mexico.

How many deodorants or rolls of TP does a hooker cost there now?
I forgot to add, I am allergic to corn, I can’t eat it but I can use it for deodorant. Isn’t that strange.

My grandparents Sicilian immigrants brushed their teeth with baking soda after each meal. They rarely ate between meals. They each died in their early 90s with most of their teeth in place.
’ Bathroom reading material and TP. Kill two birds with one rock.’
That is a prime example of thinking outside the box.:)

A new twist on the idea of never letting a crisis go to waste.
I like the way you think.
In contrast, Texas light sweet crude is essentially a mix of kerosine and natural gasoline right out of the ground. Very little refining needed.
Those babies definitely got back but add ten years and two kids and the view would change. A lot.
Just goes to show, you can have too much of a good thing.
A lot of the items listed are frivolous, but things like baby wipes and diapers shortage can be challenging if you’re unprepared for it.
Isn’t socialism really nice? You can even feel a smell of it!
