No, I think its pathetic that they won’t make things better for their kids there. In fact, they risk their own kids rather than their own pathetic skin.
When I was in college I had a friend who worked for an organization that spent all its time bringing in Somalis and Hmong and Serbians and anybody else who wanted in. I always felt that was cowardly. If you really want to help them, go over there and help them straighten out their country, don’t bring them over here and turn us into Somalia.
