Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) criticized former Vice President Dick Cheney and blamed "those who supported the Iraq War" for the current crisis in the country in an interview with NBC's David Gregory Friday. Gregory asked Paul about the op-ed co-authored by Dick Cheney and his daughter, Liz that blasted President Barack Obama's handling of the Iraqi crisis and his foreign policy as a whole.
Paul said the same questions raised by Cheney in his op-ed could be asked of those who supported the original decision to invade Iraq. He also said he didn't blame Obama for the current crisis, pointing the finger at Cheney and other supporters of the Iraq War for the current Middle East chaos and for "emboldening Iran."
"I think the same questions could be asked of those who supported the Iraq War," Paul said of Cheney's op-ed. "You know, were they right in their predictions? Were there weapons of mass destruction there? Thats what the war was sold on. Was democracy easily achievable? Was the war won in 2005, when many of these people said it was won?
Paul went on to note many current Iraq War supporters also are concerned about the situation in Iran.
"They didnt really, I think, understand the civil war that would break out. And whats going on now I dont blame on President Obama. Has he really got the solution? Maybe there is no solution. But I do blame the Iraq War on the chaos that is in the Middle East," said Paul. "I also blame those who are for the Iraq War for emboldening Iran. These are the same people now who are petrified of what Iran may become, and I understand some of their worry."

FURP!!
Good Lord.
Rand Paul (R-MoveOn.org)
And once again, one of the Pauls shows that they are incapable of critical thinking, or being relevant and honest.
Libertarians are the best political friends democrats could have.
FURP X 2
the apple sure doesnt fall far from the tree.
anyone who would call this guy a “conservative” and support him for president needs their cranial wiring checked.
Someone should remind him that YES, there were WMDs.
Three mustard gas shells rigged as IEDs and one Sarin shell rigged as an IED, plus one green band shell in crate ready to take chemicals were found.
And ONE shell is proof..
ping ... Rand is looking for a photoshop circus montage all his own. Just like daddy.
Paul must really really NOT want to be the prez in 2016.
I can’t imagine anyone doing more damage to his future careeer than Rand Paul himself.
I gave Mr. Paul every reasonable opportunity, but he’s off my list.
Who pulled the troops out prematurely? who closed our bases? Who abandoned our bases, equipment, weapons and supplies to the enemy? Who degraded our military? Who signaled to the terrorist world that the USA will no longer oppose them? Who actually fights on the side of the Islamic terrorists? Who is pissing on the graves of our fallen heroes? Who is the absolute worst president ever? Why is Rand Paul supporting the treasonous surrender monkey left? Oh yeah. It’s a family tradition.
ROFLMTO...Rand Paul....like a see saw.
That would include the Clintons, Kerry and most of the house and senate.
Wasn't there a report that 250 tons of yellow cake was shipped to Canada for disposal? Weren't a number of chemical weapons labs discovered ? didn't they just say in the news that the terrorists had just taken over one of Sadam's toxic gas production sites?
Paul sounds like he reading from the Huffington Post. Wasn't he a republican at one time?
What he means to say is “I would have made the same mistake as Obama”.
It’s undoubtable that if Saddam had still been in power, there would be no ISIS invasion. BUT, Rand Paul is totally wrong Obama is not responsible. If he had left a residual force, this would NOT have happened
Well Paul did say the Republicans need to reach out to Dem voters. LOL. He is his father with a smoother personality.
