Have you contacted your representative lately? (vanity)

I am down to my last nerve, as they say. Watching the news about the multiple scandals and how the residents of the beltway treat it all as no big deal infuriates me as I'm sure it does with many, many other American citizens.

It is hard to prioritize the disgusting events we are witnessing, but I think one example might be the long overdue dismantling of the IRS. This is the agency that is being put in charge of every aspect of our lives from finance and savings to health care and they have the gall to admit they can't even keep operational records in tact.

In my opinion; any representative not calling for prosecution of all officials in the IRS and the subsequent death of this evil department should be dumped this November, regardless of party.

If you have time to read this, you have time to contact your representative. There are more of us than them and though we don't matter, their jobs do!

I’ve called my state and federal congresscritters within the last month to express my disdain for the garbage going on in both places. Their staffers have been the usual programmed drones we all know and love, “I’ll be sure to relay your message.”

IRS has gone full renegade. Their doors should be shuttered and every employee jailed until they come clean. I would be happy for that to be never.

I voted against my congressman in the primary here. He won it anyway. He’s a traitor POS that voted with John Lewis and Hank Johnson on the Ryan Debt/Budget Capitulation bill.

I am going to leave his slot blank in the general election as I am going to leave the Perdue/Kingston boxes blank also in the runoff. I will never vote for a RINO again.

Gallop says 7% of Americans have confidence on Congress but 93% of congressmen get reelected. So logically when approval goes to zero, 100% of incumbent will get reelected.

My Rep (Justin Amash) routinely communicates with us on Facebook, so it’s easy for us to get a direct line and get answers.

And yet the GOPEs are trying to run a Rovebot against him. Shocker. Luckily it’s just wasting money.

Doesn’t matter. These Washington politicians won’t listen to anyone out in the hinterlands. The only time we hear from these Washington politicians is during election time, when they are begging for our votes

Seriously I really think Kingston will be way better than Saxby or Perdue. I wanted Paul Broun but I’ll settle for Perdue is just another Saxby.

I use faxes instead of emails in the hope that someone will actually read them. I do it so much that they are probably saying, "him again" when the printer starts.

But, I hold out hope that if more people will make an effort we can move the needle.

Yes I have called, several times. Sensenbrenner’s office guy told me “blah.... blah..... bill in the Judicial Committee..... blah.” and I told him STOP..... STOP. WHY pass any new laws while current laws are ignored. Told them to STOP the INVASION at our Southern border.

Also called Ron Johnson’s office, too, same message. They were more receptive and agreed about the invasion.

I asked them both “WHAT are you doing TODAY” to stop this invasion? No real answers. I suggested impeach, arrest or do SOMETHING to show some backbone.

Keep calling, I totally agree. Get others to do the same. Silence is acceptance.

In my job before I retired, I tracked Congressional Budget Pork projects. Without a doubt, Kingston was the unequivocal Pork King of Georgia and ranked very highly at the national level. I am not going to vote for his promotion to the Senate. Sorry.

“Have you contacted your representative lately? “

My representative is part of the problem, hopefully he will be ousted in November.

Tom McClintock is among the few precious solid conservatives in Congress. He is very accessible and I contact him on specific important issues. I support him as much as I can afford.

Close to growing Sacramento, this historically solid conservative district (Placer County is one of the many, surprisingly, conservative counties in California) is being threatened by the progressive cancer of modern liberalism (which is why I think the Democrat-Socialists’ new moniker — “progressives” — so effectively describes them), but Tom McClintock won his primary by a significant margin against, uh, “moderate Republicans” who I read the California GOP backed. Fortunately (for conservatives), the California GOP is quite irrelevant in local politics.

Writing and calling the Congress is useless, I think. I have called and emailed for years. I find that writing letters to the editor addressing my concerns makes more sense. Many people see it and my representative’s designated reader takes note immediately.

It is best to write in a civil tone and not appear to be a fanatic. My letters are almost always published and I think it is because you can’t identify my party but the complaint is always very visible.

One of mine was published in the paper today. I’ll soon start on another.

I contact my “So called” representatives at least daily. The written responses run the gamut from inane to outright insulting to my intelligence. I still keep trying however, in the hope that the interns who read them will somehow get ‘religion’ and become aware of the crap their boss is supporting. I know I am shoveling against the tide with Flake, McCain and Kirkpatrick but shovel I must.

Hard to beat-up on the staffers. They’re just workin’ the job. My rep is a Dem who likely does not care what I think on those topics anyway.
