"The GOP is the enemy of America."

And who is your preference?

My preference is the GOP to move right, and that will fail to happen as long as liberals in the GOP keep winning.

If that means voting a TRUE preference, a limited government Christian conservative like Cruz or Palin who stands FOR cutting back government, or if it means voting for a no-name third-party candidate knowing full well the candidate will lose, that is how I will vote. I will vote for my preference and in actual functional terms, of realistic achievements, I am voting to weaken the mandate of whichever collectivist leftist wins, the Republican or the Democrat; there is zero appreciable difference in end results.

My preference is for liberals to be weak.

Your preference is apparently to keep the Republican party turning left, because that is certainly what happens when liberal Republicans win, primary or general.

Nuts to you.

And you will vote for your preference, which you wrongly perceive as being "against" the Democrat.

News for ya, oldbrowser and cloudmountain no matter how much you wish it wasn't so, no matter how much you protest, no matter how much you pretend otherwise ...

... voting "against" is pretend. Voting "against" is in your imagination. There is no place on your or my ballot to vote "against" the Democrat presidential candidate, not a single one.

There is ONLY a place to vote for a different candidate. The only way you can vote "against" is to vote for something else.

Voting "against" loses even when it wins.

Excellent post.

The problem with people such as these, at least as I see it, is that they have been lied to, and they believe those lies.

So much so that those lies are in fact their belief system. And if anyone challenges those lies, then they will evoke an angry response.

it reminds me of a hotel maid I once knew when I had evacuated New Orleans for Katrina. She was a simple woman, nice, but simple.

She apparently was victimized by one of those Nigerian scammers who sent her love letters, promised her a castle or whatever if she’ll just empty her bank account and send to him.

She did so, and of course, she was ripped off. And then it happened again, same guy. People told her after she had been ripped off that she was being ripped off again, and she got mad at those people, and then got ripped off again.

This is what happens to those who believe lies, and it becomes a matter of pride that they cannot believe that they were lied to, and then they fall.

And sometimes they take others with them on their fall.

I am 100% behind Cruz. I think Palin is in a good spot right now, but I would support her for any position she chose.

I am somewhere between a conservative and a libertarian. I want the federal government cut down to the bare minimum and let the states run their own states. I want to change the senators and congressmen into part time citizen legislators with the emphasis on citizen not legislator.
I am for the most competent representatives and administrators and I don't care about their religion or color.

The constitution of the US was written in 1790 when our population was less than four million people. Everything has become much more complicated with over 300 million.
The government is too big and has become ungovernable, even by qualified and honest people if we could elect some.
I believe a constitutional convention is necessary if the citizens are going to be able to get a handle on this runaway monstrosity called the federal government.
