Al-Qeada Historian Says: ISIS's Near-Term Goal Is "Vast War Inside Islam"
Slate ^ | 17 June 2014 | Ben Mathis-Lilley

[This is] what ISIS would like to happen, in their ideal world. Their ideas on this front are derived from late "al-Qaida in Iraq" founder Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's thoughts on creating "a vast war inside Islam" that would ultimately eradicate all Shiites: ...for Zarqawi and his network, savagery—particularly when directed at other Muslims—was the whole point.

The break between ISIS and al-Qaida over the former's brutality is well-known; Wright's piece puts it in context of the two groups' views of history. Al-Qaida was fighting the West; ISIS is fighting Shiites, and a vengeance that goes back more than a thousand years—and seeks to replace all secular states with a unified religious rule—apparently requires even more gruesome methods.

That’s what the. Neutron bomb was for. It would kill the people but leave all of the structures intact. The radioactive fallout was short I. The neighborhood of 7 years before it was safe to enter. But the peanut farmer ended that weapons program...

"a vast war inside Islam"

Yep.

Ought to keep `em busy for years and years.

When one side is running a little behind we can do some night airdrops of 762x39.

Heck, we could keep the little fellers going for at least a decade...

Perhaps two?

I know all about the 5 pillars, I was only mentioning the 2 that depend on the existence of mecca, the ka'aba, and the black moon rock, assuming that FR readers are up to speed about the 2 and the 5.

The silver vulva with the black rock, this is what they pray to: allah's hard drive.

A handful (three? four?) of French ops guys were allowed into Mecca under diplomatic passports to do an assessment of the situation for the House of Saud. Ultimately the Saudi royals got the backing they needed from the Wahhab leadership (which is separate and independent, contrary to what is often said around here) through some concessions to the religious leadership, and sent in the Saudi armed forces. The “Mahdi” died picking up a grenade — he’d been picking up grenades and throwing them back, assured of his own invincibility — and the final firefights were in the catacombs which at that time still riddled the bedrock under the whole works. Since that time, almost all the catacombs have been filled in with concrete and aggregate (maybe by the bin Laden family, they have done a lot of recent construction in and around). Oh, and the US citizens (mostly black muzzies) who participated in the uprising and managed to survive were for the most part repatriated to the US.

The identity of special ops guys involved seems to be in dispute. Some say French, some say Pakistani.

It wouldn’t be surprising that Pakis were also involved, but the French were there.

That's Syria. This is the U.S.A. Here's some background information on what's really happening over there.

Ground to a Halt (Research shows: Suicide-bombers Communists, not Islamists
New York Times ^ | August 3, 2006 | ROBERT PAPE

Posted on Wed Aug 9 01:23:46 2006 by GodGunsGuts

...

In writing my book on suicide attackers, I had researchers scour Lebanese sources to collect martyr videos, pictures and testimonials and the biographies of the Hezbollah bombers. Of the 41, we identified the names, birth places and other personal data for 38. Shockingly, only eight were Islamic fundamentalists. Twenty-seven were from leftist political groups like the Lebanese Communist Party and the Arab Socialist Union. Three were Christians, including a female high-school teacher with a college degree. All were born in Lebanon.

...

Robert A. Pape, a professor of political science at the University of Chicago, is the author of “Dying to Win: The Strategic Logic of Suicide Terrorism.”

Iran is also communist, by the way (everything state-owned and much of it doled out to the families of clerics). I posted hundreds of articles on Iran and the need to take care of business there a long time ago, but anti-American, pecuniary, international socialist interests here threw trash in threads at nearly every article. Iran continues to build nuclear weapons.

Harb pledges to be forceful president [Maronite "ready to fight" Israel, "protect Hezbollah"]
Lebanese Lobby (Lebanon) ^ | 11SEP07 | Francis Matthew

"Beirut: Boutros Harb, long-serving Maronite Lebanese Member of Parliament, is standing for president and reaching out to the Shiite Hezbollah, across the political divide in the country.

[...]

"I have proposed that the Lebanese army and government must be in control of declaring war, and that we should find a way to incorporate Hezbollah's forces into the army. But this has to be on the condition that the Lebanese government and army accept the full duty of being ready to fight and protect Hezbollah if Israel attacks," he said, adding that it was also important that Lebanon had to liberate the occupied territory of the Sheba'a Farms from Israel."

"The ship is sinking and all of us, the Lebanese, should stick together and work together to stop the Israeli aggression," Amin Gemayel, a Maronite Christian who served as president from 1982 to 1988, told the Arabic-language TV station Al-Jazeera . . . Michel Aoun, a one-time commander in Lebanon's 15-year civil war who now serves in parliament, said . . . "I don't think that Israel has the capability to destroy Hezbollah militarily because Hezbollah is not a group of armed men," Aoun said. "Hezbollah is a major part of the Lebanese social fabric."

Thanks for the important map.

This is what is driving ISIS:

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) has prophesied about several events that will occur just before the advent of the Day of Judgment. Among these, Muhammad (saw) has foretold the return of Jesus (as), which will materialize when a one eyed claimant to divinity (Antichrist or Dajjal) will attempt to misguide the humanity into worshipping him. Messiah will descend from the heavens in Damascus, pray behind Imam Mahdi, pursue and kill the Antichrist, destroy the savage and unbelieving armies of Gog and Magog, and bring peace and brotherhood to the world. Christians will recognize the truth and accept him only as a Messenger of God; the religion of God (Islam) will justly rule the world.

There will be no oppression and no need to fight oppressors (war will be abolished) and no need to collect Jizyah (since there will be no non-Muslim people of the Book to collect this tax from). Every human being will be well-off and no one will accept charity. Messiah will perform Hajj (pilgrimage), marry, remain married for 19 years, beget children, and die after living on earth for 40 years. His death will signal the beginning of the last days.

The Holy Prophet (after making mention of the appearance of the Dajjal) said: “In the meantime, When the Muslims will be making preparations to fight him, will be lining up (for the Prayer) and the lqamah will have been pronounced, Jesus son of Mary shall descend and join them in the Prayer; and the enemy of Allah (Dajjal i.e. the Antichrist) on seeing him shall start dissolving like salt in water. If Jesus were to leave him alone, he would melt to death anyway, but Allah will have him killed at his hand, and he will show his blood on his spear to the Muslims (Muslim)”.

There are Ahadith about dajjal and his fitna. In one of those Ahadith, the Holy Prophet (PBHU) said that: “Whoever memorizes ten Ayaat from the beginning of Surah Al-Kahf, will be protected from the Dajjal.”

An op-ed from our old newspaper Chitral News from our FATA days http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1155685/posts :

In a Friday sermon or a ‘tableeghi ijtima’, one may hear an hour long speech about the importance of offering five time prayers, fasting, going for pilgrimage, tableegh etc, and about vices like drinking alcohol, eating pork meat, personal appearance like keeping beard and dress code etc, but not a word would be uttered about the prohibition of financial corruption in Islam. If alcohol is prohibited in Islam so is bribery even more vehemently prohibited, but bribe takers/givers would be seen confidently sitting in the front row in a mosque eagerly listening to sermons against alcohol consumption.

Misplaced priorities with our preachers is the real reason for denigration of the Islamic image. The attribute of God almighty as the ‘most merciful’ is grossly malinterpreted to imply as if God would forgive all sins of Muslims including financial corruption and sins against humanity etc.

Frequently repeated ‘assurance’ to Muslims by preachers is that if a Muslim recited kalima tayyaba just once, eight million of his sins would be annulled as a reward, or if one goes for Haj (pilgrimage to Mecca) all previous sins would be washed away, are the real cause for corruption amongst Muslims, whether in Pakistan or elsewhere in the world.

Other religions, or even those who do not believe in any religion, do observe the universal ethics of honesty and therefore fare better in this regard. With Muslims, the religious preaching defines moral behaviour and if honesty is not the priority for a Muslim religious preacher how can the preacher’s disciples exercise honesty.
