Representatives of prominent conservative groups converged on the Heritage Foundation on Monday afternoon for the umpteenth in a series of gatherings to draw attention to the Benghazi controversy.
But this one took an unexpected turn.
What began as a session purportedly about unanswered questions surrounding the September 2012 attacks on U.S. facilities in Libya deteriorated into the ugly taunting of a woman in the room who wore an Islamic head covering.
The session, as usual, quickly moved beyond the specifics of the assaults that left four Americans dead to accusations about the Muslim Brotherhood infiltrating the Obama administration, President Obama funding jihadists in their quest to destroy the United States, Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton attempting to impose Sharia blasphemy laws on Americans and Al Jazeera America being an organ of enemy propaganda.
Then Saba Ahmed, an American University law student, stood in the back of the room and asked a question in a soft voice. We portray Islam and all Muslims as bad, but theres 1.8 billion followers of Islam, she told them. We have 8 million-plus Muslim Americans in this country and I dont see them represented here.

Plant or not, the mob reaction that occurred was ridiculous
Did you actually see it?
Was there.
Specifically, what was said that you find out of bounds? Because, I thought the panels’ replies were factual and relevant, if impassioned.
See attached for my opinion of Dana’s opinion.

Wonderful. More “conservative” morons who couldn’t investigate a roll of toilet paper.
Here’s the problem. These self-proclaimed “conservatives” who scream the loudest get on these “panels”. They are self-aggrandizing twits and do more to hurt Conservatism than any LibTards wet dream. Yeah the Libs have the same problem but I don’t care about them.
As long as these are the people that are put front and center to speak for us we stand zero chance of doing anything but go extinct.
Well, wear the garb of the enemy and defend them, what sort of reaction do you expect? Of course she’s a plant.
Irrelevant and certainly an ugly tone. I was embarrassed for everyone in the room. Then again it is what I get to accepting an invitation to hear Frank Gaffney speak (to be fair though, I had no idea he was on the panel)
There is a civil way that conservativs act, it reminded me of how liberals responded to me back in 2003 when I was supporting the overthrow of Saddam while in college. Loud, rude, random non sequitor talking points, applause over me so I could not respond.
How about some specifics to replace that broad brush?
What should have been the response to the troll:
Islam is a totalitarian religious and political ideology that is incompatible with Democracy. It should not be respected or encouraged. It should be heaped with scorn wherever it appears, just like NAZISM.
How do you "see" a Muslim? You can "see" a Muslim only if the Muslim chooses to dress, groom, or act differently from the 98% of Americans who are not Muslim, and instead, chooses to dress, groom, or act in such a way as to identify with Muslims (assuming that her statistics about 8 million Muslims in the US are correct). Someone who chooses to do so, cannot expect to be treated the same as someone who does not choose to differentiate herself/himself from the crowd.
To Dana...our mobs throw insults.
Their mobs cut off heads.
Benghazi ping
What is your problem with Frank Gaffney? I really want to know.
Totally disagree. It sounds to me like you accept the characterizations of doctrinaire leftist Milbank.
What is equally ridiculous are the comments at the Washington Post. It makes you want to spew- no information reflex Republican haters almost every responder. Don’t confuse me with the facts, I have my beliefs!
Islam is not a religion of peace though many Muslims may be peaceful people, despite their religion. The Muslim faith is a religion that subjugates women by design and glorifies killing any who are not Muslim or who reject its tenets.
Some emphasize other parts of its teaching to make it look benign but one need only look at the destruction its spread leaves in its wake.
The Muslim who went to the meeting appears to have behaved well but I do not think her premise is correct. The religion must be judged by its gestalt which has brought ignorance, poverty, death, savagery and mind numbing subjugation of Muslim women, not to mention the cultural impoverishment, genital mutilation and destruction of objects of religious and historical significance. The religion cannot coexist with modern society.
I believe in freedom of choice, the freedom to be a practicing Muslim. However I would not alter our society one iota to accommodate that practice. If people want to live in a cloistered society where female children are mutilated and raised so that they cannot fully participate in our society they should live in a Muslim country. Otherwise they need to swim in the same pond as the rest of us and if they don’t like our values they should find another pond.
Well done, Sir. Well done.
For one, his ridiculous vandetta against Grover Norquist because of a choice Grover made.
Grover has been an excellent conservative for decades, strongly opposed to growing government and keeping taxes low. Gafney’s baseless attacks on him, which lacked any evidence, proved what an imbecile he is
Read the comments on the page. It’s impressive how delusional these people are.
