There was a time when we would honor symbols of excellence that had some significant achievements that deserved our adulation. Whether it be enormous talent, superior intelligence, political or business success, etc. there would be something in the makeup of one's character that generated praise. I am having a very difficult time figuring out now why so many liberal icons come up short on substance unless it's thanks to media dishonesty. Two of the most dubious icons who continue to garner liberal endorsements are Jane Fonda and Hillary Clinton.
Last week Jane Fonda was presented with the American Film Institute's 42nd Life Achievement Award at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. For the life of me I can't imagine why. Did she get it for her Academy Award for Klute; her exercise videos; for looking great at 76; or for being a traitor? Let's face it; the Academy Awards are no longer about quality in performances. After all, Lee Marvin got it for a comedy western instead of Rod Steiger who gave an outstanding performance in The Pawnbroker. Julia Roberts received hers in 2000 for Erin Brokovich for cursing and showing her bra straps instead of Ellen Burstyn who acted her heart out in Requiem for a Dream. Fonda's award for Best Actress was given before she committed treason by giving aid and comfort to the enemy on her visit to Hanoi in 1972. I'm sure the sycophants who gushed about her at the AFI show were either ignorant of her past or diehard Kool-Aid-drinkers. I've lost respect for all of them.
The popularity of her exercise videos may be due in part for the fact that most of those who bought the videos had no idea who "Hanoi Jane" was thanks to the mainstream media muting her past....

Arlington....and it has already been “leaked” on...;-)
Hey, fella....El Rushbo admitted screwing the pooch on the nasty slut. Guess yer gonna tell him “fu liberal”....
Reckon YOU don’t listen to Rush quite regular....I admonish you to not be rash, or quit PWD (posting while drunk)...
Hey, at least Joan Allen didn't win for playing a RINO turned rat Senatrix and Vice Presidential appointee in that piece of crap "The Contender".
That's the one.
"Pretty Woman" my left big toe. Sela Ward looks better than her. So does Megan Mullally!
Jesus Christ: You cant impeach Him and He aint going to resign.
Liberal icons hide behind whatever they can, subvert whatever they can, are perpetual adolescents, have no hope for being mentally healthy and will always be psychotic.
IMHO
Was that in regard to my post about Paul Newman or Sandy Fluke?
Remember who “they” are when it comes to buying tickets to “their” movies or buying “their” crap in general: “they” are the ENEMY!
Personally, if there is/was a movie or album from a leftist that I wanted, I would either borrow it from the library and copy it or buy it used. No royalties for “them”.
Like I’ve posted several times on here, if I’m invited to a Red Sox game, for example, I will not spend a penny while I’m in the stadium. I will not support open, proud leftist loons (Red Sox ownership). I’ll eat/drink before or after a game (at a non-Red Sox owned establishment), but I won’t spend a penny while I’m there. Stare the beasts, one cent at a time.
Hanoi Janey...
Like an STD... just won’t go the hell away.
“...Starve the beasts, one cent at a time...”
True that, however, wherever, whenever you can.
Same with places that prohibit concealed carry. I won’t patronize them.
Amen!!!
There are a number of left-wing actors who are excellent actors despite their obnoxious politics. Roberts is neither that good looking nor a very good actor. Totally overrated.
‘Requiem for a Dream’ was awful.
LOL I don’t miss that big fat murdering bastard one bit.
He supported the Jacobins. A lot of people here don’t like him.
