In theory, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) has it largely right on immigration reform. Our current system is broken. We cannot deport everyone.

Rand Paul: I wont allow you to smear me by claiming that Im for amnesty

thats a load of sheep dip. cute little game these morons play, fail to enforce the laws and then call it 'broken'.
You can not deal with a President that ignores anything he don’t like in the law. You either too stupid or a fool. Either way you don’t belong in the Senate if you deal with this President
“In theory, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) has it largely right on immigration reform. Our current system is broken. We cannot deport everyone.”
Gríma Wormtongue. Fictional character in The Lord of the Rings. Chief advisor to King Théoden of Rohan. A henchman of Saruman.
Gríma serves as an archetypal sycophant, flatterer, liar, and manipulator.
The GOPe has many Grima Wormtongues. They whisper to you, they lie to you, they manipulate you. They want to discourage you and make you feel that it is pointless to oppose what they want.
On immigration, illegal immigration, they always repeat the same big lie: ‘Our system is broken. We cannot deport illegal aliens. We must have Comprehensive Immigration Reform’
But that’s all a lie. It’s just Grima Wormtongue whispering in your ear, telling you that it’s just too hard. You can’t do it. You should just give up. Let the GOPe pass amnesty for 30 million illegals and all of their relatives. Don’t fight it.
“Our current system is broken.”
This is the false premise all discussions on immigration start with. What’s broken is the WILL to enforce the current laws - they would work very well if they were enforced.
The way to restore the proper WILL is to get the attention of a few people with a political 2x4 upside their heads - kinda what happened to Cantor.
No WaPo, Our current system isn’t broken. Apparently our leaders are. They refuse the pathway to citizenship that is already on the books. When will you enforce our laws? When?
My question to these politicians who say we can’t deport 11 million people would be “Why not?” They are in the country illegally and should be deported as soon as they are found to be in the country illegally. If they want to keep the family together, send them all home.
John Kerry-supporter Rubin and slippery charlatan Paul deserve each other.
Rand and Cantor are pro-amnesty. But Rubin’s afraid Rand will be punished, like Cantor was, for being pro-amnesty—so he ought to double down on the issue?
Wrong.Deport 500,000 and the rest will deport t5hemselves.”
how would that happen? Fining employers huge bucks for knowingly hiring illegals would be more effective.
True. And the “can’t deport them all meme” is hollow, too.
You don’t have to go after them; take away the reason they are here (entitlements), stop giving them the rights of American Citizens, and punish people who employ them and a large portion will go home. The others that subsist on their own work and in the twilight will just have to provide for themselves. Never legalize a criminal.
“Jennifer Rubin writes the Right Turn blog for The Post, offering reported opinion from a conservative perspective.”
CONSERVATIVE PERSPECTIVE. Sorry Jenn, baby, we just got the “Conservative Perspective” from Virginia on Tuesday.
I semi-like the post, at least compared to the rag here (Houston) or the New York Times, but the idea of this babe being the token conservative is SICKENING.
“ how would that happen? Fining employers huge bucks for knowingly hiring illegals would be more effective.”
Deporting 500,000 people is CHILD’S PLAY for a country this size. It will cost a couple of bucks, maybe one day’s worth of Social Security payments, at most, but it is a piece of cake. There are plenty of bus companies that would be happy to help us with the task - and especially now, since the school buses aren’t running for the summer.
It’s only broken because we are not enforcing existing law.
