On Saturdays broadcast of MSNBCs Up w/Steve Kornaki, former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele said there was push for outgoing-Majority Leader Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) to head the Republican National Committee after he leaves office in January.
Steele pointed to the build-up of the 2016 presidential election cycle as a reason for the push behind Cantor.

Where, Michael? Where is there interest? D.C.?
The Blind leading the Blind!
Yep I think running into a brick wall at 100mph will work out much better than 80mph... The Logic of Fools!
Psst. Know Men by their Acts! This is a Foolish Act, thus...
A senior congressman gets bounced by double digits in the primary because of the positions he holds, and the RNC wants to put him charge of the party.
The collective IQ of the RNC leadership must be in the single digits.
if they want to ensure less donations to the rnc than ever before, go for it.
He essentially got fired by the Republican Party of his district. He needs to move on to something else, which I am sure a man of his abilities will have no trouble doing.
No, he's in the right Party. This ain't your father's GOP.
Unless your Dad was a Nelson Rockefeller supporter, that is...
NO.
They do not get it yet.
They don’t need us Conservative plebes anymore.
They got the U.S. Chamber of Cronyism - er, Commerce to line their pockets.
‘Aint Fascism grand? The GOP Ruling Class thinks so.
We want the slimy, duplicitous snake-in-the-grass Eric Cantor as far away from the Republican Party as he can be come January 2015. When you throw out the trash, you don’t retrieve it and give it a place of honor in the family household.
Eric, go do something you’re qualified for. A used car salesman passing off clunkers as new.
That’s a good idea, but instead of the Second Party, call it the Other Party of America. Both Democrats and Republicans would hate that.
No
yes let’s keep recycling the same losers who have screwed up the country...
I do not think WE Conservatives get it.
We are being made politically irrelevant. The GOP Establishment wants us gone - they declared war on us and they are replacing us with Big Government Democrats.
The democrats would be the only ones interested.
Hell no to Cantor at RNC.
Or let him go get a job at Trent Lott’s Lobbying firm.
That’s where the rejects end up anyway.
The GOP Establishment has to take care of its guys, after all. And besides, you wouldn’t want some conservative trying to win elections and upset the cushy deal we have going.
It's not like I donate to the RNC anyway.
“this is like the captain of the Titanic recommending someone to be the pilot of the Hindenburg”
Great analogy.
