Bob Smith ? The Bob Smith who went nuts after he lost his Senate job and endorsed John Kerry for President ? That Bob Smith ? NH badly needs some new political blood instead of these old retread losers.
God bless her. Too bad there isn’t more integrity like this when dealing with first-past-the-post elections.
Bob Smith has no chance of winning in November.

well well, ole Scotty shoulda stayed conservative instead of caving
As long as Scott Brown doesn’t win, I am happy, he is not even remotely a conservative, he huge around with Kerry his whole time in office.
I wasn’t even aware that Smith was around (and I am in soviet Red Hampshire) until Karen withdrew the other day. I would have voted for her, but will NOT vote for Brown if he is the nominee.
Red Hampshire (the drunkest state in the nation) will be choosing the GOP nominee before you know it...stock up on popcorn.
Bob Smith is a flake and a joke. Enviro nutbag too. When he endorsed Kerry out of spite because Bush backed Sununu in his 2002 primary, that was the last straw. Also, he’d get his butt kicked in the general election.
I thought running Brown for this was a bad idea for several reasons, not least of which is that he’s not very conservative and is a recent carpetbagger. Contrary to what he thinks he’d actually have a better chance of winning in MA, at least I think so, he polled well against Markey.
But Bob Smith, no sirry. And the other candidates are even worse, like perennial candidate and weirdo Andy Martin from Illinois.
Brown’s only opponent who isn’t a total joke is former State Senator Jim Rubens, I know little about him. He last held office in the 90’s, he lost the GOP primary for Governor in 1998 (to a some schmuck who got DESTROYED by Jeanne Shaheen for some reason) and then lost a State Senate comeback bid in 2000.
This goes to Brown by default. NH GOP’s cupboard is bare so they imported him. I’d like to think they could do better but he gives us a not stellar but decent shot at replacing a Marxist witch with a 55%-60% conservative, I’ll take it.
