Rep. Jason Chaffetz: IRS testified that Lois Lerner’s emails were archived [video]
Twitchy ^ | 06-13-2014

Posted on 06/13/2014 10:03:59 PM PDT by Kevin in California

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen testified before the House Oversight and Government Affairs Committee that it would take a long time to retrieve all of the Lois Lerner emails that were subpoenaed, but he never hinted that they had been “lost” in a computer crash or otherwise.

Rep Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) wasn’t buying that excuse then, and he’s posted the YouTube video to prove it.

Journalism is a scum occupation.

'Jounalism' is not practiced by the MSM, only propaganda all day long.

I hold the MSM as responsible as the democrats for Obama's lawlessness.

With this administration, whatever isn’t overwhelmingly incompetent is overwhelming corrupt, and what isn’t overwhelmingly corrupt is overwhelmingly incompetent...and both in many cases in their attempts to cover up one or the other. One total disaster after another. Obamacare. Fast and Furious. IRS abuses. Iraq. Syria. Ukraine. The amount of damage that is being done is incalculable.

Left off a big one: Benghazi...

Too many massive disasters to keep track of.

contractors will have artifacts documenting the failure, a few examples: support tickets, hardware monitoring logs, or emails.

Yes - certainly they know which contractors they paid. There must be some sort of dated documentation - unless the entire incident is a fabrication. The lack of any documentation would indicate that the entire hard drive crash story was a lie.

Just subpoena the NSA, they’ll have copies....Oh wait, they’re probably just collecting on conservatives too, silly me, what was I thinking.

Just try to tell the IRS that copies of all your receipts were on your hard drive and it crashed and you can’t recover them.

Yeah, they’ll buy that.

They are lying. Email is backed up at the mail server (both sent and received), not the desktop.

The truly disgusting part of this, and the most depressing, is that they’ll get away with it. Nothing will change until citizens mass on Washington with pitchforks, rails, torches, tar and feathers.

It is insulting for them to think that anyone would believe this crash tale.
If a mail server crashed that badly they would lose more than just one persons email.

If by "strange" you mean hilariously fabricated, we agree. The emails sent to other agencies would have been on several destination servers, not the IRS server at all. In addition to which there would have been RAID-5 or RAID-6 fail-over redundant disk arrays on all of them, as well as daily, weekly, and monthly backups on digital tape.

This is the kind of crap an administration feeds to a constituency for which it has no respect. And why should they? A posed photo of the National Security team supposedly viewing the realtime assassination of bin Laden was accepted by these morons. A story that al Qaeda linked militias showed up outside of the US Mission with automatic weapons, RPGs, and mortars in response to a YouTube Video was regarded as gospel ... and then when the story fell apart, the fact that the administration never believed in the Single-Video-Theory and knew it was terrorism all along was taken with a straight face. A government that is monitoring the excruciating minutiae of the lives of 310 million citizens is unable to pick up the phone and call a relative handful of insurance companies to get solid figures on the number of new health-care employees -- and nobody questions this except right-wing nutjobs.

It is literally impossible to insult the intelligence of their parties base -- the 47%ers -- and they damn well know it.

The same White House computer genius that built the phony birth certificate came up with the server crash scenario :)

There is no legal authority to force the “justice” department to prosecute criminals. The only thing that will stop these criminals is a military coup. And that won’t happen.

Hint : RICO criminal violation charges can be filed by anyone!

If there are exemptions for government departments and employees in those RICO laws, nobody's mentioned them.

Of course they are lying, but in a hearing, wouldn't that otherwise be known as perjury? There are lots of people that should be doing time, but the GOPe will do their best to make sure they all walk.

Oh, we totally agree. And that goes for the rest of your post as well. Those who buy these lies have zero respect for themselves much less for anyone else. Maybe the most absurd thing about those libtards is that they expect to get respect from others. They're hitting a dry well if they look to me for any.

See, this is a prime example of how people’s opinions of the media get distorted. I worked in the media for over a decade before calling it quits. I probably worked with 50 or more journalists/editors from all walks of life and 4 different countries; and I can tell you from personal experience one thing.

You have absolutely no reason to hold such a high opinion of journalists. They are,as a group, far worse than you imagine.

If a journalist tells you that water is wet, check it yourself. Because odds are the story on it was typed nearly verbatim from a press release written by someone who never touched water or a government agency trying to spin it to match an agenda.
