HOUSTON, Texas--The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is taking select Members of Congress on a secret tour of the temporary children’s shelter set up to house the children who entered the country illegally as part of the Texas border crisis.
The tour will visit the temporary shelter set up at Naval Base Ventura County later this afternoon. The Congressional delegation will be given a 40-minute tour of the facility where they will witness the interior of the shelter and the care being provided for the unaccompanied minors while they are being housed in their facilities.
An email obtained by Breitbart Texas that was sent by HHS to Congressional staffers, contains an extensive lists of rules that instruct the Congressional leaders or their staff on what they will or will not be able to do on the tour. In an apparent effort to control the optics of the story, the Congressional members will not be allowed to take any recording device, including their cellphones. No questions will be allowed during the tour.
The members will not be allowed to interact with either the staff or the children and no photographs will be allowed to be taken.
The email, attached below, explains that HHS will provide the delegation with photographs that HHS has taken and hand-picked after the tour is finished. They members of the tour will also be allowed to ask questions of a HHS designated representative after the tour is complete.
The long list of rules are being established and enforced by HHS “to protect the safety and privacy of the children” and the email states compliance with the rules is “required.”

You are correct .. because the founders’ logic was .. the Congress WAS ELECTED BY THE PEOPLE. All the rest were APPOINTED by the person in the WH. Congress is the only branch who can subpoena a member of another branch. This should explain how badly the Congress has been demoted - simply because they lack the backbone to DO THEIR JOB. If your feelings get hurt easily .. the Congress is no place for you; sadly, we have too many touchy-feely congress-people.
And .. how many people even know that when the Supreme Court makes a ruling .. THE CONGRESS CAN VOTE AGAINST THE RULING AND OVERTURN IT ..?? We no longer have enough spines in Congress to do it. It assumes the Court is the be all, end all .. and you can’t go against it. PHOOEY!!!
The President is the only person in the Executive Branch who is elected .. while we’ve always had presidential wives who have been given opportunities to “rule” in some way.
Therefore, the President does not have the right to ORDER the other branches to do or not do anything.
And .. I hope there’s some enterprising Congress person who will invest in a hidden camera .. just to show the President that he doesn’t have the power to control.
BTTT with that. Obama is not being constitutional at all.
Of course, whenever was he constitutional?
That’s OK. The congressmen can send their aides.
Then the Congressional delegation needs to say ‘thanks but no thanks’ to the trip.
Congress is the elected and authorized oversight branch of the government. And no bureaucrat whose salary I pay should be allowed to interfere with the legitimate exercise of that oversight.
Hmmmmm ..?? I think the “forbid” included AIDES and STAFF.
But .. anybody who is stupid enough to leave their cell phone within the clutch’s of the HHS has rocks for brains.
Just what info could the HHS get from those cell phones that they could use to BRIBE, INTIMIDATE, ETC ..??
