To the Editor:
Is this the kind of country we want to be — where our children are sacrificed so that a small minority of Americans can have any kind of gun they want? Your child or my child could be collateral damage just so a small minority of Americans can have the pleasure of owning a grenade launcher if they want. Pick which child you want to sacrifice. How about your oldest so that the younger ones might still have a chance at life? Or should it be the youngest since you have invested a lot of time and money already in the older ones? Or perhaps you’d give up your middle child since, ahem, you know what they say about middle children. That might be the one you’d prefer to sacrifice to the small group of Americans who say that it’s their right to own an assault rifle or an AR-15 because they equate the Second Amendment of the Constitution allowing them to have a musket with owning a weapon that can mow down 20, 30, 40 people or more at a time. Is that what you want America to be? I know the arguments in favor of owning high-powered guns. but no arguing is necessary. There is only one question that needs answering: Do you want to sacrifice your children so that anyone can own any kind of gun they want?
Just this week I called Sen. Toomey, Sen. Casey, and Rep. Meehan (my representative in Montgomery County) to ask them what their stance is on gun ownership. I could not get through to Casey. The lines were busy so I left a message — twice — never heard back. I also called Rep. Meehan twice and got two separate aides who said they had no idea what their boss’ stance on guns is. I called Sen. Toomey and talked to a staff person who told me Toomey tried to do something about guns once before, and it got voted down so his gun safety measures are on hold. But the aide told me that politicians take phone calls and what is said on social media seriously. Good to know.
Note to Rep. Meehan: Tell your aides what your stance on guns is so that when constituents call, the aides don’t sound clueless and misinformed because, Mr. Meehan, it’s a reflection of you.
Note to Sen. Casey: Call me back, please.
Note to Sen. Toomey: Get back to work on gun safety (oh, and thanks for having an informed staff member).
If you do not want your child sacrificed so that a small minority of Americans can have the pleasure of owning any type of gun they want, call your congressperson and ask them to tell you how they feel about guns and what they are doing to make our country safer. And then tell them how you feel about guns. Don’t be lulled into thinking nothing can be done because when the day comes that it’s your child who has been killed, sacrificed to the gun fringe, you’ll wish you had at least made a phone call.

Stay home. Don’t go out under any circumstances. And please, please don’t reproduce.
You or your offspring may get hit by a car, contract a fatal disease, drown in a pool or...we’ll you get my drift.
And, yes, you may get killed or hurt by a maniac armed with a hammer or knife or bomb or, yes, even a gun.
It’s a dangerous world, Claire, but the fact remains that something’s going to get you in the end.
Chances are it’s going to be old age.
But stay inside and write your congressman; you’ll be safe and you’ll feel better.
As for me, I’m going out and take my chances among the 90 million people in this country with whom I feel safe.

Any new statute, amendment to existing statutes, rule, regulation, or court decision, whether in state or federal courts, affecting firearm ownership, possession, or transfer shall apply equally to voter registration, voter ID, and voting. Any citizen is hereby granted standing in court to seek enforcement of these provisions.
Rights is rights, I always say.
Your children live in a free nation because of guns. They speak English because of guns. Your children’s safety is not compromised by the 2nd Amendment. It is compromised by the liberal policies of the past 50 years that has destroyed the family and this Nation moral compass..
Wow! Tens of thousands of kids are being butchered in the Middle East as a result of O’s conniving. Thousands of kids are being sacrificed by o on the Mexican border and not a peep. Then we have this. These people are so dishonest.

Actually I don;t want my grandchildren sacrificed so that a small minority of Americans can say anything they want even when it is not true. So I am writing my Congress critters to repeal the 1st Amendment....
How does that work for you Claire?
Maybe she should consider homeschooling and while she is at it, please refer to The Bill of Rights.
If we really want to protect our children then:
Children should not be sacrificed for: “pool rights”.
Children should not be sacrificed for: bicycle rights
Children should not be sacrificed for: Car rights
Children should not be sacrificed for: swingset rights
Children should not be sacrificed for: Playground rights
I’m sure I could find hundreds of things that kill more children every year than crazed gunmen.
Why don’t we just lock our children up in their rooms until they are old enough to smoke marijuana in Colorado?
Tell them to STOP. The fear mongering is what's causing kids to go nuts and shoot up schools... that and all the drugs you liberal shoot them up with...
