Michael Steele predicts Kevin McCarthy backlash

Former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele on Friday warned that the tea party caucus is not happy with the rush to coronate Rep. Kevin McCarthy as majority leader. “Guys in Congress and gals rushed this thing through,” Steele said on MSNBC. “The base is not happy about it. They wanted to see a conservative — probably someone out of the tea party caucus — at least vie for the position. They clamped it down early, did not give them a chance to ramp it up, and that’s going to come back to bite.”

Well he’s right IMO.

There will be a backlash - a bluest of blue state rep as majority leader? Really?

That has to change.

Wow, traditional Republicans wants to see a conservative in in a Republican leadership position. The nerve of those guys. It is becoming clear that the divide in this country is no longer Dem vs. Republican but the elitist class versus the middle class. And the middle class is losing. Losing big.

Just so. Michael Steele put on a good conservative act, but as soon as he was put in a position of power, he did whatever they told him.

I still wouldn’t trust him, after that. But he’s right about this rush to crown a RINO whip.

I hope it ticks off enough people to flush that piece of fecal matter Boehner down the bowl next year.

No ,.. we are not just pissed !
We are VERY FREAKIN PISSED by the Machine Politics of the GOPe to follow the status quo , which is how they lost the last election !
The GOPe is setting themselves up for mass abondonment of the party , and the establishment of a third party.
and it is this behavior that will cause it - and they deserve it !

“Michael Steele said Tuesday it’s a “mistake” that Sarah Palin doesn’t have a role at the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

“I think it was a little bit of a mistake not to have Sarah Palin here,” the former Republican National Committee chairman said on MSNBC. “I think she brings a level of energy and excitement that’s going to be important going forward into the general campaign… She’s the vice presidential nominee from 2008. Extend the invitation, give her a moment to speak to the delegation, to the candidate and [their] families.”

Good point. I was chatting with a few dems recently, actually just two guys who are not really wired in but who vote dem due to their family history. They both said they are appalled about what has happened to the country especially under this clown. Still, they are not of a mind to cross over because in their words: things are not much different “over there” regarding what is going on. While I do not agree on that point, I think it noteworthy the general notion is it one big club in DC and we are merely fodder for their positions.

Anyone know if the votes are public or do they do this behind closed doors?

Behind closed doors, secret, nobody tells each other how they voted unless they want to.

The ruling class see the taxpayers as nothing but a bunch of peasants to be exploited. And it doesn’t matter if they have an R or a D after their names.

“it’s a “mistake” that Sarah Palin doesn’t have a role at the Republican National Convention in Tampa.”

It is a mistake but what it is a slap in the face of anyone who believes this is a conservative party. Look at it this way, they gave us the consensus RINO last election and the conservatives sat at home and they lost. So, rather then even extending a olive branch out to entice the conservatives back into the fold, they shove it up our backsides by in effect saying: we can do it without you and who else are you going to vote for anyway?

We have got to continue taking out the old guard RINO every primary from now to eternity till they get the message, even if we have to lose more general elections. Till we change the leadership, there will be no change in how we are viewed by them: the enemy, more so then the Dems.
