It is time, and little of it remains.
Elections alone cannot remedy what ails our sick republic.

Isn’t it amazing how these prudent men and women, whose purpose is to plan an orderly convention that passes the muster of constitutional history, take so much guff at FreeRepublic?

Overall, this is a good article.
Clarifying a few things:
"... to begin continue planning for the first state-led revisions to the U.S. Constitution ..."
"... Nothing like this has ever occurred in over two centuries ..."

Let me guess. Eliminate the 1st and 2nd amendment. And unless you have nothing to hid, get rid of the 3rd too. 4 5 6 7 8. Screw them. They are old white dude amendments. 9 and 10. Who even knows what those mean. Where’s my obamaphone?
To: Jacquerie
Only one Amendment is needed, and all our problems are over:
“No presumption of corporate jurisdiction shall be made until proof is warranted before its enforcement in each application.”

here are a few amendments to the U.S. Constitution that I would like to see :
1: No person who has not served honorably in the United States Armed Forces will be eligible to hold the office of President of the United States
2: No one not born to U.S. citizens , father and mother , shall be eligible to vote in U.S. national elections . The right to vote will be conferred to those born of U.S. citizens only . The U.S. born children of U.S. born children , of immigrants will gain the right to vote in U.S. national elections upon that 2nd generation coming of voting age and while residing as citizens of the United States .
Any child born in the United States to persons not citizens of the United States shall not be considered a citizen of the United States by reason of birth location alone . Children born in the United States to non-citizens of the United States will be considered citizens of the country of birth of the non-U.S. citizen parents .
They shall not hold the right to vote in national elections within the United States .

The Problem is that the Ruling Class isn’t following the Constitution as written right now.
What good are new articles going to do? They’ll just ignore them too.

The states must take back the power granted to them in the Constitution and refuse all monies and taxes and laws and lawless federal thugery that the now neo nazi federal government has shamelessly stolen from them. They need to run the end around the obamantion before he crowns himself king of the now sickly and hurting America.

Yes, and if the efforts of this assembly eventually ends in needed structural amendments to the constitution, we can thank Indiana state senator David Long for igniting this movement.

This is truly an exciting exciting development watching state legislators lay the foundation for a convention that will put the fear of God Almighty into the corrupt miscreants of the ruling class!

To: Jacquerie
The significance of the work undertaken by The Mount Vernon Assembly to prepare for a future Convention of the States was not lost on the 94 official and participating delegates, mostly Republicans, who filled the House chamber The Republican Representatives are not the political progeny of the founders of the Constitution nor do they represent the people (for the most part)Republicans represent big business and big money...
A rewrite of the Constitution will benefit only big business and put the screws to those of us who are pro America...
Most Republicans are globalists and are not interested in State or National sovereignty...
