I’ve often made the point that every advance of the homosexual agenda comes at the expense of religious liberty. We as a society must choose between homosexuality and liberty because we cannot have both. Where homosexuality advances, liberty retreats.
For example, I have already written about the cop in Utah who essentially has been fired because he did not want to literally lead a gay pride parade. His reservations about homosexuality are religious in nature, but regardless of the Constitution’s guarantee of the “free exercise” of religion, he was forced to choose between homosexual pride and his own conscience. He chose conscience, and now he’s looking for work.
But the threat of what Bill Maher calls the gay mafia is not confined to the world of law enforcement or commerce. Of course, virtually every piece of gay “rights” legislation carves out special exemptions for religious organizations, especially churches, as a sop to the First Amendment. But these crumbs from the master’s table are flimsy protections at best, for the simple reason that people will start to argue that churches should not be allowed to break “laws” that everyone else has to obey.
Why, we will be told, should Christians be allowed to be homophobic bigots if nobody else is?

This is exactly what gay marriage proponents say will not happen if they get their way. But it is, of course, exactly what will happen. They just know that telling the truth does not work in their favor.

This is one of the reasons why I regard the EU as perhaps the most malignant government entity on earth. They have swan dived into the culture of death, and the reservations or opposition of Europeans matters not a whit.
The gaystapo can attack churches in a couple of ways. They can argue the church doesn’t deserve a tax-exempt charity status and then members will have to decide if they give to their churches because they have actual faith or to get tax deductions. Costs will go up and income goes down.
The other attack will be on a state level, being an argument that if a person licensed to perform marriages won’t marry gays, then they should have no power to legally marry anyone. In Russia, all couples had to get civil marriages in addition to their religion ceremonies. It would be the same here. Either way, the gays would have their revenge and churches would be challenged to continue their missions. Some churches won’t survive.
Now, if that happens to my church, it would not change my contributions. I appreciate the tax deduction but that isn’t the reason I give.

I don’t know the details about this Utah incident. But since the police department is reasonably regarded as an agent of the state, it appears that the state has violated Section 1 of the 14th Amendment. Section 1 prohibits the states from making policy which unreasonably abridges constitutionally enumerated personal protections, the cop’s freedom of religous expression in this example.
That could actually work in our favor. If marriage becomes a purely secular institution, robbed of all its spiritual dimension, then churches are free to perform any other kind of "bonding" ceremony they choose (in effect, the sacred -- and true -- ceremony of marriage).
Then, religious people will be free to reject secular marriages and insist that their services are available only to those who are united in a SACRED ceremony, i.e., a church wedding.
Sure, the fags will whine and pout, but the courts will then have to decide whether or not religious liberty truly exists. And if it doesn't, then all the institutions deriving from moral law cease to have any weight either, including our system of justice.
We can't be told that we have to obey the law because "it's the right thing to do," while we're also being told that "there's no such thing as right and wrong." The fags can't hide behind the very ethic they're negating.

I’ve been saying for a long time that churches will be forced to allow gay marriages. I blame the preachers. They should have been standing up to the government for a long time instead of worrying about their tax exempt status. Now it’s too late to stand up.
Attacking the tax exempt status of the Church will not work.
The Church is under no obligation to take on the values of the State, and the State can not demand that they do, because that WOULD be a direct violation of the Establishment clause.
Sadly, probably half of the congregation of the churches along with half of their preachers are all in favor of gay rights.

Aye, there's the rub. The above is a specious argument.
EVERYONE in this country is free to be a bigot against homosexuals. If they choose to speak out against it then they should be prepared to deal with a backlash from such free speech. But EVERYONE is free to believe whatever they wish.
