SAN ANTONIO — The sole abortion provider in Corpus Christi has decided to retire, according to the Caller-Times, leaving women in the Coastal Bend area without ready access to abortions.
Corpus Christi had also been the closest location for some women in the Rio Grande Valley since clinics in McAllen and Harlingen closed earlier this year.

The naming of the city was done by the city’s founders -— not the State.
I realize that, but how can it be allowed to stand, unchallenged. The Washington Redskins were named by the team’s founders, and that’s being attacked, though not religious in nature.
There are many thousands of religious place-names in the USA -— cities, counties, rivers, valleys, mountains -— just as there are in Canada. And the entire state of Louisiana — where every county is a Parish, for godsake! Among them: Assumption, Ascension, St. Charles, St. Bernard, and St. John the Baptist
If the totalitarian plan is to extirpate our religious geographic culture and heritage, we’d have to rename half the USA! But there would be a revolution before that happened. I hope.
See U.S.Constitution, First Amendment - Establishment Clause followed by Free Exercise Clause. There is no, ‘separation of church and state’ in the Constitution. It only speaks in these clauses of preventing the government from establishing a national religion and then of protecting individuals in their free expression of religion. In this case, the spanish explorers (here before the pilgrims), discovered the area on the Feast of Corpus Christi and named the Bay (then the city) for this day. There is no limitation of religious exercise or establishing a national religion inherent to the name of the city. Please spread the word about the First Amendment whenever you hear someone talk about ‘Separation of Church and State’ usually to complain that God should not enter the public square - that He created.

My interpretation of separation of Church and State is to keep the State out of Religion. An example is the War on the Catholic Church by the Mexican Government in the 1920's.
Or how King's and Queen's named Bishops and Cardinals.
For example, the Queen of France had a hand in naming Cardinal Richelieu in France of the Three Musketeers fame.
Saint Vincent de Paul worked to keep inappropriate people from being named bishop, for example.
He got into a lot of trouble for opposing the nomination of a Bishop who was totally not qualified with the Queen of France (same queen who name Cardinal Richelieu).
In this case, the Queen ordered Saint Vincent de Paul to nominate or name the Bishop in question.
Saint Vincent de Paul found a clever way of not doing as the Queen asked but not disobeying the Queen.
His reward was to inform the mother of the man that he would not become a bishop.
The mother threw and hit Saint Vincent de Paul with an iron (as in ironing clothes) in the head. He left the mother of the man bleeding from the wound in his head...
The fate of one of the five abortion clinics is unknown if they can get admitting privileges. This is in the Shreveport or Northeast Louisiana area near Texarkana.
The other three abortions that definitely are slated to close are in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
There might be one abortion clinic open in Louisiana.
The same article stated that the only reason the abortion clinic in Jackson, Mississippi is still open is that a judge ruled it can stay open during litigation.
If the litigation is unfavorable, it will close...

And many years ago there was a wonderful campaign underway to erect a giant statue of Christ on the high bluff in downtown Corpus Christi. (similar to the one in Rio)- but it was defeated by local Libs.

I’m in favor of a statue honoring the Body of Christ - Corpus Christi -— and protecting the unborn child, who bears the Image and Likeness of God!
The Libs hate it, but they could do nothing. It is on the private property of a church.
It's a pity that they stopped the wonderful campaign to erect a huge statue of Christ on the high bluff in downtown Corpus Christi similar to the one in Rio.
