Editors at MSNBC.com trimmed down Republican congressional nominee Dave Brat's June 11 phone interview with MSNBC's Chuck Todd in order to paint him as dodging questions from the Daily Rundown host.
But a review of the full interview [listen to the mp3 audio here] shows that Brat had already and seemingly quite gladly answered a few policy questions on such hot issues as the minimum wage, immigration reform, and his stance on Wall Street's influence on the business wing of the GOP.
"Brat dodges Chuck Todd's questions," blared a teaser headline. "Brat: I just wanted to talk about the victory," reads the headline at the video link. "Virginia primary winner and Tea-Party member Dave Brat joins Chuck Todd to discuss his primary win and it appears thats all he wanted to talk about," was how MSNBC.com summarized the clip.
Readers of the MSNBC.com website who hadn't the benefit of watching the interview earlier in the morning would have come away with a wildly different perspective than someone who watched the full interview.
Below is the full segment's transcript. The portion underlined is the portion that MSNBC.com isolated: ...

The Left’s hatchet job on Brat has barely begun.
Why get upset about it? They are playing to their (exceedingly tiny) audience. No reasonable person watches that propaganda channel other than for “know your enemy” purposes.
It shows that much like Ted Cruz they are scared Shirtless over any Small Government conservative...
I despise the legacy media.
Lying speech is their native tongue ... they are servants of their master, the "Father of Lies".
Do a search and you'll find that other media sources have jumped on this and spread it far beyond the MSNBC world.
This is why conservatives should always request a full feed real-time recording of any interviews, and should record their own full record of any public appearances or speeches. It also strikes me that it would be wise to place a digital timer in the frame, perhaps on the podium, or on a shelf behind, so that the out of sequence edits are obvious to the viewer. For a small campaign like Brat’s, with a highly constrained budget, it’s a pain to have to divert resources to stuff like this, but the example of George Allen should suffice.
Brat is just the newest figure that MUST BE DESTROYED by the Kos Kids.
Take a look at some of the things that have been said about him on MSNBC,Twitter, etc in the last couple of days.
Just looking at Tweets from the last couple of minutes:
“extremist teabagger”
“Climate Science Denier”
“Ayn Randian wingnut”
“scary economic thinking”
Article after article bashing him, from Salon, Vox, The New Yorker, etc. The Left has someone new to “Palinize”. Many tweets already claiming he is a RACIST, that hates the idea of America being run by a black man.
We have seen all of this before, many times. He is the leftist cause-celeb to pile their hate upon.
Fortunately, NBC and its clones are not the broadcaster of record.
MSNBC - America's least trusted news source.
Stop talking to the knee-pad media! All they will do is just try to trip you up with "gotcha" questions.
The Democrats ignore unfriendly media all the time. The Republicans should do the same.
Other media sources have jumped on this including NYT, Politico, Hot Air, WaPo, HuffPo.
I posted that very article. :)
Repeating it.
hope you don’t mind that I added a few “keywords” to get your thread seen a a few more areas.
This is what the media does so don’t always believe what you see......either side but in my opinion the left is way better at deception so beware
It begs the question WHY do conservatives GO ON THOSE PROGRAMS??
The good news is that BOTH Todd’s viewers were in jail for obscene phone calls to Sarah Palin so nobody saw or heard it.
