He may have learnt his lesson.
He got Arpaio to endorse him which was a mistake. If Sessions votes for amnesty he is gone in 2016 based on what Katrina Pierson got this time.

NO NO NO NO NO
We did not just bounce Eric Cantor to have this troll waltz in. Might as well have Tom Cole! A conservative needs to step up.

I have seen him on C-Span many times during hearings.
He came across as quite competent and good talker.

Between the democrats who act as if they are completely comatose with zero brain activity and the republicans who are in the throws of an identity crisis plus the Obama admin lost in dither and confused land we have a situation beyond any I’ve ever witnessed.
The weaknesses are an open invitation to some bad scenarios.
“I’m a simpleton. What about you. It was the smart bas****s who did this.”
*paraphrased from A Canticle for Leibowitz
People will take their cues correctly from a situation like that.

his main concern would be securing the U.S. border with Mexico
How?
When?
Details first.
Otherwise, no deal. Half of the pro-amnesty crowd use that same old canard. If they, any of them, were sincere, they could secure the border using current laws. They don't need new laws for that.

Sessions is a BAD CHOICE.
Maybe Jeb Hensarling (if from Texas)

This is just round four, and they let their guard up. Boehner, Graham, and McConnell all won their primaries easily.
