Freshman legislators are initially evaluated by how much money they can bring to their political party
and not by how much constructive legislation they can create.
SO the recent Freshman spends 8-10 hours each day to demonstrate their economic value to the party,
and not allegiance to the core values that got them elected in the first place.
The remaining 4 hours per day is spent answering constituent questions and problems, and inquiring about pending legislation.
THis is how it has always been in machine politics , .. and needs to be changed !!
I suspect the 17 payments were for 17 monthly credit card bills, each of which must have covered several visits.
Second question: Is Cantor able to pull a Murcowski and run as an Independent? If I recall, she got GOPe money for that.
I was at a high end steakhouse for a company dinner. There was a minimum order amount for use of the private dining room. The minimum was about $2,000. With 15 of us, we had trouble hitting it.
Nope, it was the Koch Brothers
. . . Or the Diaz Brothers.
They ate steak at a place named for a long dead lame game-show host?
Who owns these establishments? What connections do they have to Cantor? And how much per meal was paid?
I mean Johnny Walker blue.
While I’ve never been one to intentionally scrimp on an expense account, I’ve never been inclined to abuse it, either. I order what I like on the menu, maybe a glass of wine. Maybe dessert and coffee if it was an especially satisfying meal and I had the time. It’s just something that strikes me as wrong, blowing money for the sake of blowing it. Probably the only thing I’ve done regularly that some might regard as a little much, and even that was approved beforehand, has been hiring a black car service for business trips to Manhattan. I really detest public transportation and even the cabs are smelly with surly drivers that don’t seem to be the most stable individuals. Not everything is in walking distance no matter where you’re staying. Makes a big difference, having a car available within a half hour’s notice.
Were you working for Charlie Rangel Companies?
Imagine how this pains somebody like Hillary Clinton, who's struggled and scraped her way through life, with little to rely on but her gritty integrity, bubbly personality, and a dash of full-bodied sexiness.
Goodbye Cantor! I'm sure you'll continue eating prime steaks as you still schmooz with all the other pampered politicians. Only this time, you'll be picking up the check. Then you'll be reimbursed by your employer, of course, so you still won't have to spend a dime of your own money.
Meanwhile, Hillary will have to eat completely different steaks, bought for her by completely different people. She'll struggle on.
$10K per dinner?
Why must you take the negative view? Perhaps Cantor was just doing his part to help out the little people by leaving really really big tips..............................NAAAAAH!
What did cantor order? Steak with diamond toppings?
