It might be known as the week that saw an earthquake at Fox News Channel as Megyn Kelly beat the almost unbeatable Bill O’Reilly in the key news demo last week. Yes, the 9 PM The Kelly File has topped 8 PM’s The O’Reilly Factor on FNC before both on individual nights and even for a full week. However, those single nights were mainly around the time Kelly’s show debuted in early October last year and on Election Night 2013. The Kelly File beat The Factor during the week of May 5, but O’Reilly himself wasn’t hosting that week. Last week’s victory was the first host-to-host face-off where Kelly came out the winner. From June 2-June 6, Kelly File drew 413,000 adults 25-54.

That’s a hair ahead of the 402,000 that O’Reilly pulled in among the demo, but in ratings as in horse races, a win is still a win. Both shows were up from the 344,000 and 370,000 among the 24-54s that they had the previous week, respectively. O’Reilly remained No. 1 with 2.528 million viewers overall compared to Kelly’s 2.434 million. Last week was Kelly’s second best week of the year among the demo so far.
Blowhard O’Blowhard sucks.
Kelly is simply better than the swelled-head O’Reilly who thinks whatever position he takes MUST be correct and he talks over any guess who disagrees with that position. He tries to pick a middle-of-the road position whether it’s correct or not. He believes in man-caused climate change and anyone who questions or disbelieves that theory must be wrong according to the great O’Reilly.
I just wish they’d switch O’Reilly’s and Kelly’s times.
I gave up on B O’R after he interviewed Obama in the first election. He was the ONE shot we had at getting a real tough questioning by a conservative. Instead, he fawned and kissed Obozo’s butt.
I like Bill O’Reilly. He was the first person on any news analysis show that I ever saw who would challenge the lies of the left wing talking heads. I’ll always respect him for that.
HOWEVER, I also can plainly see that he lacks the ability to see outside his relatively narrow ideological boundaries. Sad, because if he could, he’d be a strong ally for us.
At least Megyn Kelly lets her guests speak. It’s not as frustrating to listen to as O’Reilly. He’s so full of himself.

This is long overdue. I stopped watching BOR a long time ago and he’s now no better than Geraldo.
I remember Rush’s show. But he didn’t challenge them TO THEIR FACE like O’Reilly does.

This is a fantastic development. Maybe Roger Ailes will start to see that the only thing O’Reilly has going for him is the best timeslot in cable news. Swap his timeslot with Megyn and watch O’Reilly sink beneath the waves like a stone. I wouldn’t mind seeing either Greta or Jeanine Pirro moved into Megyn’s timeslot after that. Maybe I’d even begin to find Fox News watchable again. It’s been a while.
Last week she had Bergdahl’s former group on her show over two nights. That alone had to draw a hugh crowd.
I can’t stand O’Really’s interviewing manner. He continually interrupts and cuts off guests while stroking his ego.
He’s a joke.
