Realtors start Mississippi air war (Don't buy a house! Rent from your aide!!)

The National Association of Realtors is preparing to air the first television ads of the Mississippi GOP Senate runoff, offering the first clear signal that Republican Sen. Thad Cochran’s deep-pocketed national backers are digging in to support him in the next round of primary voting.

According to two media-tracking sources, the Realtors group has booked a small cable TV flight in the Memphis market, which covers populous parts of northern Mississippi. So far, the buy amounts to about $12,000 between June 11 and the June 24 runoff vote.

Such a small buy might not be significant on its own, but that dollar total could continue to grow. No other outside organization has gone on the air since the June 3 primary between Cochran and conservative challenger Chris McDaniel. Ahead of that vote, independent political organizations spent more than $8 million, with the bulk of it coming from groups opposed to Cochran’s reelection.

One of the major questions looming over the second Cochran-McDaniel vote is whether the heaviest-spending national groups, such as the pro-Cochran U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the pro-McDaniel Club for Growth, will continue to invest at the same rate they did before the first ballot.

Ahead of that vote, the Realtors were one of the biggest groups shelling out money on Cochran’s behalf and reported spending nearly $400,000 for television and online ads backing the senator’s campaign.

Cochran is so much an “inside the beltway” pol that he doesn’t even own a house in the state he is supposed to be representing.

How Ironic. Conservative groups complain about Cochran not spending enough time in Mississippi while almost all of McDaniels money is coming outside of Mississipi.

Hypocrisy, thy name is teaparty.

Not all real estate agents are members of the National Association of Realtors.

“Hypocrisy, thy name is teaparty.”

Really?? And where exactly did all the money in Mitch McConnell’s “warchest” come from?? In Lindsey Graham’s? In Lamar Alexander’s? In Mike Enzi’s? In John Cornyn’s? etc?

What's up with that? How was Cochran feathering their nest?

You really think that 36 years of living off the taxpayers isn’t enough? Don’t call yourself a conservative.

This will alll be moot when we finally repeal the 17th amendment.

But he has an “R” behind his name. To many on this forum, that is all that matters.

When it comes to politics, the NAR is more a of thug union than an association.

It continually pimps its members for donations to its political PAC, which is rat all the way.

“You really think that 36 years of living off the taxpayers isn’t enough?”

So, Cochran is the one living off the taxpayers? Thanks for the enlightenment. All this time I thought it was a job, like being a policeman, or Governor, or Congressman, or soldier, or fireman, or president, or mayor, etc. Maybe you will get the idea. Oh, I left out State Senators.

Yeah ... I can pretty much see your point ...

I suspect that you would have bitched and moaned over Gen. George Washington's accepting "out-of-state" soliders at Valley Forge and the Battle of Yorktown.

We're in the "midst" (not the preview, mind you, moron) of the American Civil War II ...

Take a look at history ... this is a fight with "no quarter for the enemy" ...

The United States hasn't been this angry and polarized since the First Battle of Bull Run.

Either get your donation to McDaniel and Matt Bevin (like I've done) ...

or get your sorry "Bowe Bergdahl" carcass to the sidelines, weasel.

As Gen. George Patton Jr.'s namesake at Free Republic, I would have kicked your pathetic hide all the way to Stalin's Russina Front, you "coward".
