The President's Very Real Military Problem By Diane Dimond - June 7, 2014
The president of the United States is the commander in chief over all branches of the military. It is a historic time, given that no military member goes public to speak negatively about the ultimate commander.
But now, with the scandal in full bloom, after the administration's smokescreen about what triggered the deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, and after the president's tepidly received speech at West Point announcing diplomacy will replace military responses henceforth, the time for silence is over.
Now career military personnel are speaking out through gritted teeth, insisting they speak for active-duty personnel who cannot talk without being punished. They are speaking about injustice, ineptitude and impeachment.
The era of silence changed after President Barack Obama's super-secret prisoner swap -- five "high-risk" Taliban prisoners from Gitmo in exchange for one U.S. solider held for nearly five years in Afghanistan. The fact that the soldier, Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, walked away from his unit leaving a note saying he was "disillusioned with the Army," did not support his commander in chief's mission in Afghanistan and was "leaving to start a new life" left military types stunned that the president would stage a Rose Garden ceremony with Bergdahl's parents.
"I'm just surprised the president was dumb enough to stand next to them," Maj. Mike Lyons told me. "It's another example of (Obama's) reading the tea leaves wrong."

Personally, if I were in the military I’d be looking to get out as quickly as possible before Obama’s fit hits the shan.
I like to think I’m as patriotic as the next guy, and certainly more patriotic than most on the Left, but I’ll be jiggered before I’ll die for one of Obama’s Idiot Fantasies.
Did Obama read the tea leaves wrong? Or is Obama so beholden to his liberalism, that he doesn’t give a blank what anybody thinks?
When SOD Hagel made a speech announcing the release of Bowe, the audience of military personal remained completely silent. When Hagel told the audience that they should be celebrating his release, the audience continued to remain silent.
“Or is Obama so beholden to his liberalism, that he doesnt give a blank what anybody thinks?” Clear your cards Freepers, Dilbert has a “good BINGO!!!”
Urkel has always been dumber than a bag of hammers. Do you think the vast left wing conspiracy wants any candidate that can go to the bathroom without a TelePrompTer? Carter,Clinton and Obama. All politicians from obscurity and/or small non-powerful states that can be easily handled by their VLWC masters.
What?
They don’t have confidence in a man who would sell them down the river and let the 5 worst detainee terrorists go and trade them for one hapless traitor terrorist?
Barry is anything but a deal maker.
He could never work for any company. They would fire him, as he represents a threat to productivity and profitability.
That West Point speech he gave was just so precious.
What a sweet heart....
I know a lot of enlisted ....none of them like him . Even black troops listen and shake their heads . My assessment is that only the career oriented highers try to feel any appreciation of the c&c at this point . Morale is suffering. Many wonder what all the fighting and dying was for if this administration is going to throw away all gains in great chunks ?
It’s islamism.
The military has also lost confidence in Hagel, if they ever had it. He is dumb as a sack of rocks and just a puppet.
Kerry is also low on their list.
It is a real worry for a father who knows his SF son will deploy again, #4, to Afghanistan next year.
Any military person who does not want to salute the treasonous b*stard (both descriptors 100% true) using only one finger should be kicked out immediately.
To respect this POS is a sure sign of lack of intelligence and morals.
Period.
It may well be our military that saves us from libs.
Think about it.
Impeach the traitor!!
Silence is only frightening to people who are compulsively verbalizing. ― William S. Burroughs
The terrible price we pay when the Republican establishment fails as a political party to tell the truth about a Democrat because we are afraid of his skin color. How much pain of unemployment, of physical sickness left untreated because of Obamacare, of dead and maimed patriots sacrificed in vain, of sovereignty lost as the border disintegrates, will we suffer because John McCain in 2008 and every establishment Republican thereafter willfully failed to stand up and declare that Obama was a radical?
We’ll always have 40% pro-Obama: The indoctrinated youth, NARAL and the Planned Parenthood crowd- where abortion is a sacrament; Hollywood and the GLBT bastards, the Media, and the Plantation.
It would have been, he said, "offensive and incomprehensible to consciously leave an American behind
in the hands of people who would torture him, cut off his head."
Totals are more like 25% rock solid pro Obama or any other skittle crazed moron who hates America.
When our troops were willing to die for their country.....and were motivated by patriotism and the desire to destroy pure evil...and were intent on "keeping the world safe for democracy"....and were inspired by the patriotic, confidence-inspiring, passionate speeches of leaders like Churchill?
And remember when our army, navy and air force warriors were instructed to fight to WIN?
I'll tell you one thing, if I were an armed services member today, I sure wouldn't care to lay down my life for the likes of Obama, Hagel and Kerry, the Three Stooges of marxism, islamofascism and idiocy.
And if this thought has occurred to me and others like me, just think what's running through the minds of our young troops who are being sacrificed on the bloody altar of a mindless Obama religious cult bent on the destruction of our Republic.
I say prayers for our military men and women....they need them now as never before in our history.
