Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was physically abused during his five years in Taliban captivity and is suffering from psychological trauma, a senior U.S. official told CNN on Friday.
The information bolstered the White House argument that President Barack Obama needed to move quickly to secure Bergdahl's release in a May 31 exchange for five Taliban figures held at Guantanamo Bay.

According to the official, who spoke on condition of not being identified.... I'm sure quite a few of us saw that coming.

BS
The Taliban were using Bergdahl as the trade for their 5 generals. There is no way they were going to knock off their golden goose.
Sounds more like the WH is still throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks, and CNN is proudly carrying the water for them.

Well, if a “Senior U.S. official” said so, that’s good enough for me. I couldn’t imagine any 0bama administration official taking liberties with the truth. It wasn’t (snicker) Susan Rice, was it? Jay Carney?

SSG Bergdahl. MOH recipient. Watch it happen.

CNN? This lying, manipulating criminal enterprise?
To: Oldeconomybuyer
Complete bullshit. Or at least a gross exaggeration. The regime is desperately seeking an air tight excuse for nobama blatantly breaking the law.
I sincerely hope this is rebutted with unquestioned proof otherwise.

Everything a focus group shows that MIGHT create sympathy for this deserter will be trotted out and tried. Eventually they'll find something that will convince the gullible and uninformed... CNN will be ready to carry that water. This is an early attempt.
Remember the ‘movie trailer’ lie? Obama's people thought that lie would work for the Benghazi slaughter. Or the ‘spontaneous protest’? Or the ‘you can keep your doctor’? Whatever half truth that works... or doesn't.
This is the same.
Most of us already assumed the deserter wasn't staying at the Ritz. And yes, we know he tried to escape. And so what? Does that justify Obama handing over 5 Generals in the war against Radical Islam? No, it doesn't.

We can expect an unending stream of such “insight” by anonymous Administration Officials. The BS will become so deep before it is over some folks in the press may drown.
He came for an argument, not abuse.

It’s like willingly walking into a propellor, then blaming the aircraft.
He volunteered for the abuse and now craves our comfort.
Send him back.

WH is still throwing stuff against the wall to see what sticks, Next trial PR Balloon:
Sgt. Bergdahl single-handedly charged a battalion of Taliban fighters to rescue a kitten from a burning building.
Furthermore, all the IEDs he helped the muzzies make were duds, just harmless noisemakers. Yes, peasants, we finally have a hero who is worthy to share the many decorations that Lt. John Kerry so bravely won.
Call it tradition!

they are trying to generate sympathy for this traitor.
Earlier in the week, O was referring to him as a kid and other soldiers as kids.
I kept waiting for the compliant media to come up with some Travon-esque pictures of the little tyke when he was about 9 years old.

Speculation that he is both gay and attracted to “rough trade”. Whether that or not, I imagine that he got himself years of rape.
