SEOUL, South Korea North Korea said on Friday that it has detained an American citizen who visited the country as a tourist, and that it was investigating him on charges of violating its laws.
The man, Jeffrey Edward Fowle, entered North Korea on April 29 and perpetrated activities that violated the laws of our republic, which did not fit his stated purpose of visiting our republic as a tourist, the Norths official Korean Central News Agency said. Our related agency has detained him and is investigating him.

Gee, I wonder why North Korea would take such a provocative action with Sparky at the helm.
Why would anyone in their right mind want to visit NK as a tourist?
How many terrorists will he give to get this guy back??
Many we can exchange a few million dollars and the pressure South Korea to release all their spies all spies for him.
Let’s not blame the victim here.
He was probably filming too much. Youtube is full of videos about North Korea.
I am not blaming anyone. I asked a question.
Kim Jong Un wants Dennis Rodman back.
Exactly my first thought as well.
You put yourself in harms way you’re likely to be harmed. You’re not a “victim” if you aren’t savvy enough to attempt to avoid trouble.
While I was over looking for that travel warning. I stumbled across this.

Unbelievable. Do they have a special page for minorities?
Some days I just want to crawl back in bed and pull the covers up over my head.
I’ll go check. They do have one for women travelers.
No blame there, just a very legitimate question. Traveling to places where they treat even their own people poorly seems like a bad idea, especially since they don’t care much for the US.
So is time to release another 5 N Korean terrorists?
Dennis Rodman can be a negotiator—in drag.....
Well according to the state department, I don’t think it’s wise to leave the country at all.
Reuters has this additional line: “[Japanese news agency] Kyodo cited unidentified diplomatic sources as saying the American was detained just before he was to leave North Korea, for having left a Bible in his hotel.”
Wow! I bet he was trying to plant seeds as an evangelist?
Keep this man in your prayers please!
