FLOTUS for Senate?
It wasn't that long ago that such a slogan would seem absurd, but political wags are beginning to wonder whether Michelle Obama is mulling a run for Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk's seat in 2016.
A Thursday column in Reuters suggests that Obama would be the only candidate with a large enough profile to unseat the Republican. The column also points to Obama's recent willingness to debate the merits of her school lunch program with Republicans, a trip to China, fundraising and her stance on the kidnapped Nigerian school girls as other signs that her tone is turning more political. It's not the first time Obama has been mentioned as a potential senatorial candidate, but that speculation has always focused beyond 2016. And the First Lady herself has never publicly indicated any interest in seeking political office.
But just like a senator named Barack Obama who decided to run for president in 2008 when many thought he should wait his turn, politics are often about timing.
She would quickly become the most recognizable face in the Senate. Her fame and fundraising ability would command deference in a body that normally operates on seniority. Whether the recent elevation of her profile suggests a plan to run is unclear, but she will be well positioned should she jump in. --

There have been many rumors and some outright statements that she dislikes being 1st lady. I would think shed hate being a senator for the same reasons.
She hates being First Lady in the same way a lot of US Presidents have only run and served “for the good of the country.”
Saying she hates it is good political innoculation against criticism of things like her extravagence and dominating behavior.
Oh stop. I admit we have many morons in American but surely not enough to elect that American hating clown to Government office....

I believe that in 2 1/2 years this country will be so sick of the Obama Family that there is no way she will even submit to campaigning, debates, and responsibility…

There is no way I will ever again support a Clinton, Obama or Bush..we are in desperate need of new, fresh leadership that truly want to serve, with RESPECT, HONOR, DIGNITY And have the knowledge to lead.

Who would want to work with her, even among her own party? She would not allow herself to be called the junior senator from anywhere. I pray that even in IL they have some standards and be sickened of the thought of her/ them taking over. UGH!

I’m very sorry to say that I must agree with you.
Changing a menu drastically in a place where kitchen workers make minimum wage and have little to no Chef training, it makes me cringe to think what is happening to those fruits and vegetables, not to mention the chicken, beef, and pork. No wonder the Children are throwing away their food.
It would make more sense to introduce some recipes and then have adults and teens test the foods to see if they are edible. There needs to be tasty recipes... Some vegetables go better with certain meats or fruits...some do not relate.
Would you put a sliced Kiwi with a Hamburger, no bun and asparagus..yuk. Now a nicely made Chicken Breast,rice, and asparagus might go well together, if you have lemon-butter to put on the asparagus...otherwise I wouldn’t want it.
You can’t just throw sour berries, a piece of chicken, and some mushy green beans or overcooked brussell sprouts on a plate and call it a balanced lunch.
