An Obama administration official has floated the idea that Bowe Bergdahl was justified in deserting his platoon in Afghanistan and joining the Taliban over disagreements with the platoon's leadership.
Brandon Friedman, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs for the Department of Housing and Urban Development posted a series of tweets Wednesday evening in which he speculated that Bergdahl deserted over bad leadership of his platoon and that is why his fellow soldiers were smearing him.
"Here's the thing about Bergdahl and the Jump-to-Conclusions mats: What if his platoon was long on psychopaths and short on leadership? (1/5)"
" What if he grew disillusioned with what he saw, didn't trust his leadership, and walked off? Legal? No. Worthy of sympathy? Maybe. (2/5)"
" If that were the case, the soldiers in his platoon would have all the more reason to smear him publicly now. (3/5)"
" Given other examples, it's not out of the realm of possibility--and more reason to withhold judgment until after an investigation. (4/5)"
" I'm not a fan of such speculation, but this story could not be more unbalanced--with so many premature calls of "traitor." (5/5)"
Friedman's Wikipedia page says he is a decorated war veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan and is a veteran of the Democratic Party front group VoteVets. He joined the Obama administration in 2009 at the Veterans Administration. He left in 2012 and rejoined the administration in 2014 at HUD.
Sounds like Obama knew he was a deserter and collaborator and made the trade anyway.
I remember arguing on FR with that gutless swine (a.k.a. Justin Raimondo) around 13-14 years ago. The guy has a major screw loose. I would suggest that folks do not give his site any visits.
The great military purge is a myth that has taken on a life of its own. But, on your second point, you are completely right. The current senior leadership have passed through a filter that measures their willingness to become complete sycophants. Forget the guys with zipper or integrity problems. Not a single senior leader in uniform has resigned on matters of principle, they have had plenty of opportunities to do so.
Well, that part of his rant is true, even if you desert or defect. SMH.
If you are not a sycophant willing to proscribe to Obama’s perverted policies, then you are figuratively cut out of the herd and cut off at the knees. Call it being villified, ignored and let go. It’s not a purge in the Stalinesque sense of the word, but the effect is the same.
Sheeeeyit. Considering who their Commander-in-Chief is, the whole damn Army would've switched to the Taliban's side by now.
'Course, that would've meant they were joining the same team as the Commander-in-Chief.
“if he joined the Taliban, hes still a hero???”
To the Obama administration, yes.
Brandon has just justified a coup detat
Goose....gander
Good to see you, too! I have missed you.Hope all is well.
They’re natives of Libtardistan....
Plante teased this story at 8:59 and started talking about it at 9:06 (I assume).
(I went into Home Depot at 9am, so I did not hear him starting the show at 9:06... he is, however, discussing Bergdahl right now)
Major screw loose.
Has it been that long?
Where do the years go?
Yes, they truly are.
It didn't take long for 0bama's thugs to dig this Brandon Friedman out of the woodwork, "a decorated war veteran," to suggest that Bergdahl is not to blame. It must be the leadership of his platoon as well as everyone in it that is at fault for Bergdahl deserting and most likely committing treason. This Friedman makes Kerry look like a Boy Scout.
0bama and the thugs he's surrounded himself with will stop at nothing to bring down this country and tarnish the honor of those that have and do serve this country as well as those who have given their lives for it.
Thanks for the screen grabs.
Another regime “dude”, I’m betting.....
Didn’t take long for the 0bama thugs to get the word to him.
That’s what I was thinking, too. Unfortunately, there’s nobody wearing stars on his shoulders right now who has what it takes.....
