Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was expected to get a hero’s welcome in his hometown of Hailey, Idaho, but as more information comes out about Bergdahl possibly being a deserter whose actions led to other soldiers dying, the tide has turned, and now Reuters’ Mark Felsenthal reports that the town of Hailey has called off its planned celebration for Bergdahl’s return.
This comes just a day after town officials were pleading for a damper on the hate they’ve all received ever since allegation’s of Bergdahl’s misconduct came out. The president of the town’s Chamber of Commerce said she’s received an onslaught of angry calls about Bergdahl.
She said, “All these five years, never a word of any negative nature whatsoever. And now, after two days, I was shocked when late at night, watching (TV) I started seeing the dragon’s head roar. Comments that are just off the wall.”
And a lot of these angry calls were people canceling their visits to Hailey for the celebration. Mayor Fritz Haemmerle put out a statement asking for people not to pre-judge Bergdahl and allow the celebration to continue on, but now it appears they’ve decided to call it off after all.
Gee, maybe Daddy looking like a Taliban Wannabe running his mouth in Pashto at the White House didn’t sit well with the locals. Then learning that he was, at best, a deserter, and at worst a collaborative traitor, well....
So there will be no slaughtering of goats and 6 hour Koran readings?
And maybe BO joining in praise with the Muslim convert in the Rose Garden didn’t sit well. Or was it the make out session BO had with the wife/mother
Should have held the celebration then showed him up for the deserter is his. Total public humiliation.
Perhaps the Westboro Baptist Church was making plans to protest?
Perhaps papa couldn’t find a child bride for his son.
Are they removing the yellow ribbons and hanging yellow nooses?
They should be. And high!
There’s an idea.
Right. Public humiliation. Especially if he’s blind sided in thinking nobody knows then get nailed hopefully on national news.
Wow. This whole thing headed south quickly.
That Obama thinks he’s so smart. He’s gotten away with fooling the masses for so long, he thinks he can pull anything off.
The trouble with some “smart” people, is that they think everyone else is stupid. That is their ultimate downfall.
The only thing that should be waiting him when he gets home is handcuffs and the families of the vets who lost their lives looking for his Taliban loving ass.

If there was a BO make out session, don’t be so sure it was with the wife/mother.
What we saw on screen was with the mother. That was all I needed to see.
